The long awaited sequel/interquel to the Rushing Beat Trilogy on SNES, finally has a release date. Brief history, Rushing Beat was a trilogy brawler released on Super Famicom back in the 90s. Tried to compete with Streets of Rage and Final Fight. When brought over to the West, there was heavy localization and unnecessary changes. First game is called Rival Turf, second game is called Brawl Brothers, and third game is called The Peace Keepers. Brawl Brothers has a cheat code that let's you play the Japanese version. The trilogy as a whole is barely above average, though can be fun on their own.

I tried the demo out during the summer and had a blast. It's no Streets of Rage 4, nor Double Dragon Gaiden, nor The Takeover, but I love what's on offer and appreciate the over-the-top nature of the game. I know they're improving, and can't wait to play this in March. Khalua is my personal favorite so far, but I really want to try out Wendy. I am getting the physical version. You can get this game through Amazon, Target, Best Buy, or Wal-Mart via pre-ordering or picking it up on release date. Though, if you want a the special/collector's edition, you have to go here:

With the release of Double Dragon Revive, and it getting updates, I am happy to see more 2.5D brawlers make a return. Adds variety and keeps things from being too repetitive with all pixel artwork. I love 2D, but 2.5D needs to still exist and stand out as well. Rushing Beat X reminds me of Demolish Fist, but the former already feels so much better. While Double Dragon Revive is what I wanted The Bouncer to be in terms of heavy interaction with your environment and great weapon variety.

Oh man, talk about unexpected blast from the past! I loved Rushing Beat Ran (played the japanese version). The whole 'beat the characters to make them join your team' was cool.
Also, ikari mode. Can't forget ikari mode.
Thank you for the news!

Ran is my favorite of the original trilogy. I don't know what it is, but Shura I don't like that much. I only like playing two of the characters, plus Rick, if you know how to unlock him. The game can be fun, but I only play it when I don't want to play the first game.
