RPGs with creatable party?

the lesser known NIS games like Cladun (latest is Sengoku: https://store.steampowered.com/app/506260/Cladun_Returns_This_Is_Sengoku/)

Classic Dungeon is probably the most customisable cos you can even create how they look, although it's a dot/pixel game

Refrain (Vita, PS4, Switch) and Galleria (PS4, Switch) (i may be wrong about the Labyrinth of games 😂 )

Bouken Meshi (i forgot the eng name) (PS4, Switch) (got bad reviews though i think)

I've also enjoyed Front Mission 3 as it somehow feels more balanced and the objectives are so interesting.

Hi. I'm wondering if anyone knows any RPG games that have a fully creatable party/party members, if that makes sense. Something along the lines of Etrian Odyssey, 7th dragon or Disgaea where you can make and customize your whole team from scratch.

There are quite a few.

I would look for PC games between 1990 and 2005.

My favorite is Mordheim. The game is somewhat off-to-the-side from what you're thinking but wanted to draw attention to it as the party 'building' is very unique; it's is more attributed to attrition during the course of your run. For instance, you may build a warrior who is very strong and skilled with a sword in their left arm as they lost their right arm in previous battles.

Here in, as with real life, events during gameplay serve more to define the characters, in your roster, than your starting choices.

You can create up to 4 playable characters, all customizable and with multitap support IIRC. Controls are clunky, though...

Awesome, thanks for reminding me. Not sure if I already had this backed up somewhere but doesn't hurt to have another sniff at it.

i recommend stranger of sword city made by experience which has alot of catalogue of games like this and the generation xth or the remakes like Operation abyss and operation babyl which is avaible here to download on the psvita but its also on steam and also made by experience.

or ya go old school and play the wizardry series its available here to download on the SNES and PS1 or the PS2 or you buy the wizardry series available on steam and its cheap i guess pretty old but still fun

and wizardry has some good remastered or new versions too like

and a gacha game which was kinda disappointing called Wizardry Variants Daphne but its a gacha game so i doubt this even fits the original topic of this thread

Class of Heroes is a dungeon crawler RPG published by Atlus in which you can create the entire party from scratch by choosing the race, class, where the characters have to explore dungeons within an adventurer school. The game has a sequel and both are for PSP.
i really need to finish this game to jump to the sequel pretty hardcore too

Symphony of War: The Nephilim Saga lets you customise multiple armies with up to 9 soldiers in each one, and you're free to mix and match whatever classes you want, ranging from infantry soldiers, archers and wizards, to bigger units like cannons and dragon riders. I think the max number of soldiers you are allowed in your existing collection is 300, and at most only allowed to deploy 16 armies during a battle.

You can set up their gears and weapons, and change their stats to your liking, along with changing their classes at any time to whatever you want too, provided you meet their requirements to achieve that class you're looking for. You can also rename every soldier to whatever long name you want (except for the heroes, of course).

Hero characters don't need to have their own armies if you don't want to, so you could stick them all into one party if you like, and have multiple personalized armies to your liking instead. You can also not bother deploying them into battle, if they're not forced upon you either.

It plays similar to Fire Emblem, so the whole advantage/disadvantages between classes against other classes exist. Permadeath can be turned on/off, if you wanted that feature. New Game Plus does allow carrying over all your soldier creations and equipment from your save file, but you have to earn a separate currency to reobtain them, and they reset their levels too.
