While I dont recommend buying any of the rpg makers at full price (or any of the dlc for any reason) right now's a good time to get in if you're interested, as steam is having an "rpg maker festival" meaning everything is on sale, with rpg maker vx ace being free.

If you like how vx ace works and have a bit of money to spend, i recommend buying rpg maker MV which is about $6 currently. It functions a lot like vx ace but has a lot of improvements & lets you export games to html or mobile devices.

Good recommendation!

I haven't used RPGM for probably a decade, aside from checking it out every now and again, but it's what made me want to make games as a career. If it weren't for the legendary Don Miguel and his translation of RPG Maker 2000 and 2003 back in the day I genuinely wouldn't be where I am today.

ye understandable, steams terms of service r pretty shady

not the same but if youre interested in an approachable game maker, gb studio is also free and doesn't require the blood of your firstborn to use
