Rpg games on SNES vs PS1, Who is the king?

Probably the SNES, but not for lack of trying on PS1's part.

Most stuff on the PS1 was hugely experimental, which really hurt the overall presentation IMO — you can have quaint little adventures like Threads Of Fate (which was silent and weighed around 50 MBs) or huge cinematic experiences like Final Fantasy VII.

It was pretty hard knowing what you were getting into on PS1, whereas you always knew what you were gonna get on SNES — and, at that point, the only measurement left was the actual quality of the story contained within each cart... which, for me, was a much better deal.

No offence to @Samantha above, but you gotta be pretty deep into retro puritanism to think the SNES comes anywhere close to the PS1 with RPG's.

Some of the big hitter RPGs on the SNES ended up on PS1, like the Final Fantasy's before 7 and Chrono Trigger, on top of all the excellent PS1-only RPGs. There's some good RPGs on SNES and NES you're not gonna get on PS1 but if your goal is to grab one of these consoles and focus entirely on an RPG collection, you'll probably be better served and have a lot more to play through with the PS
The PS2's no slouch either when it comes to its own RPG library

Gotta go with PS1 here as well. SNES obviously has some of the most iconic RPG’s of all time, but the PS1’s RPG library really is a cut above if you’re really into RPG’s. PS1 RPG’s of that era seemed to be the time when devs really started to experiment with battle systems and mechanics and ended up creating some really innovative and overall just great stuff.

The Ps1 wins, by a lot

Even if the 3D jump experiment was a thing for the Ps1, there is a lot of quality both from classic pixel art, 3D and mixed in the console

Also the music and sound quality must be mentioned. A good rpg/jrpg must have an epic soundtrack and thanks to the CD the quality was way better

Not to mention that some of the Snes games ended up with re-release or remakes on the other consoles. Even on the ps1

PS1.

Even if the SNES did have more role-playing games, there were more of them translated into English on the PS1 (right away, rather than 5-10-30+ years later by enthusiasts).

Only one of these has Rudra no Hihou
But only one of these has Digimon World 3
this question is impossible
therefore Sega Saturn.

ok but fr its PS1, more diversity
