I’ve been playing Pokémon Perfect Crystal and FireRed Essence, and I think this topic applies to them.
Basically what they do is make it so that every Pokémon from the respective two versions are available in the same game, along with special event Pokémon that are otherwise unobtainable but part of the files, so you are able to complete the Pokédex without trading. They’re basically vanilla+ versions of the games and don’t add anything too out there. Also some quality of life features but the above things are the main features.
