For the past one to two weeks, I had been searching high and low for the best roguelite game playable on the RG34XXSP.
Then, last night, unable to sleep, I decided to seriously try out the WonderSwan doujin game, Dicing Knight, just to pass the time.
After spending a little over two hours clearing the first dungeon, I fell deeply in love with this game.
Upon exploring it in more depth, I realized that the game itself is practically the genesis of roguelite, embodying Gunpei Yokoi’s philosophy through the persistence of a single doujin developer.
I had been wastefully spending one to two whole weeks searching for a game... and for what?! All that time, wasted. All along, the absolute best roguelite—a technically unbelievable, impressive, and beautiful game that perfectly embodies the WonderSwan platform, ready to be played anytime on a low-cost, light, yet serious and engrossing Linux handheld—was right here, tragically under my nose.
