I mean, MM8 straight up pronounced it like the fish, so I can't exactly blame any kids exposed to that unfortunate voice work.

Same! When the animated cutscene with Bass played for the first time, I wasn't paying much attention to what was being said. IIRC, I was writing down something at the time and wasn't even watching it. It was a continuous string of muffled sounds until Bass' deadpan "shut up" broke through and I cackled.

Kind of hoping blood omen doesn't win, I just finished playing it a few months ago when they re released SR1/2 and I honestly don't wanna play it again anytime soon

Looks like the suggestions for July are finalized, might as well throw some out for August.

My main suggestion is Illusion of Gaia. It's not terribly long and is a solid action-adventure game. Other recommendations are Brain Lord and Alundra for similar reasons.

I'd suggest Parasite Eve 2 since the first game was already played but it doesn't seem to be well-liked. It is rather different from the first game but I still find it pretty enjoyable in all its wannabe Resident Evil-ness.
