RGT Nostalgia Society #9 - POLL

How many days does it take for the verdict? Is it on 01/02?
As soon as the clock rolls over on Feb 1st, basically. Though with a bunch of us in different timezones it's a bit vaguer than that lmao.

Pikmin 2 actually coming up from behind to win this maybe? ::thinking

Dreamcast only, No MODS. Final Destination.
You're lucky the new redream is out, or I would play DX on my Gamecube out of spite. Your also lucky I don't want to slog through Pikmin 2. And that the flair for Sonic Adventure is going to look fucking dope. And that I like Sonic Adventure. And that I like you. 😗

I see my nomination for Perfect Dark got in (even if it wasn't voted for ::sadkirby ) but I ended up nominating a bunch of games. Do you just pick one from every user in to the Nominee thread?

Amen.

I'm hoping futilely for Ogre Battle. I've played the SNES version, which is fun but a slog, aided greatly by any emulator with a fast forward button. Apparently there's a Saturn version, I've had the Saturn on the brain a lot lately, so it would be a good opportunity to dust off my console and Saroo cart.

Right, and I'm sure it would also be improved by using a GameShark code for infinite lives. We're playing Sonic Adventure for Valentines Day man, the Conch wills it.

Edit: Oh, wait. I just noticed Ogre Battle is 3rd in the polls. That means you can hold out for a March Sweep once we're done with next month's game.

Honestly I just go through with a notepad and write down any nominations that have a repo link lol

I didn't even notice you nominating multiple games ::eggmanlaugh

Also looks like we're doing SA, at least, probably. I can't even remember when the last time I played the game was, and which version I was even playing.

Do any of the dreamcast emulators let you use a physical disk on a PC? Because I guess that's technically an option for me.

I appreciate your condescending attitude, but...have you played Ogre Battle? Plodding would be too generous a term for the pacing of the game. I guess I'm not a real gamer if I don't enjoy watching units march slowly across the field for five minutes before anything happens :(

I have played Ogre Battle, it's not great, due to the reasons you just described. It's hard to really inoculate a strategy when you can't really control your units mid-battle. It's not about being a real gamer or not, it's just a very odd thing to say when recommending a game (that it's only tolerable in fast forward).

I don't think you do appreciate my condescending attitude, mister.

"aided greatly by any emulator with a fast forward button" equals "only tolerable in fast forward", apparently. Who knew the words I said were actually totally different words? I certainly did not. I do think Ogre Battle is a good game, the slow pacing is simply a caveat to that.

You think I don't appreciate the condescension, but do you know if I do or not?
