RGT Nostalgia Society #8 - Banjo Kazooie

If you're asking how high the jump has to be, pretty much the moment kazooie stops hitting the ground is good, full control of the direction too.
Of you're asking how high you can be for the damage to not occur, it doesn't matter
ok then cause if i do this on tooie and banjo becomes a pancake im blaming you.

ngl to you guys, so far the underwater controls on this guy are reeeally bothering me.

Not sure if this is the problem that stopped me in my tracks on other playthrough attempts, but it's certainly starting to kill my buzz here. The underwater controls are sooooo vague and floaty -.-

Might have spoken too soon about 100%ing this thing ::eggmanlaugh I'm probably going to just try to get enough of the jiggies/notes to just make my way to the end of the game.

Pretty sure the glitch still works in Tooie

Press R while moving underwater, it gets tighter movement for some reason.
It is a pretty hard game to 100% the first few times especially the later levels (even for me sometimes), just know that the reward for it is a lot of free upgrades and power ups for the final battle, which can also be a bit frustrating the first time

That is baffling but also incredibly helpful if true lol

I'll defer to your expertise tbh, that jump trick you showed us earlier was insanely helpful during Treasure Trove Cove.

I also have to be fair to the game and say that last time it was my own fault for trying to leave the Jinjo beneath the level exit til last, so getting the jiggy got me killed and ruined my 100 notes streak -.-

Not looking forward to going back into clankers cavern later and trying to turn that damn key enough times.

Not an expert but if I had to guess I'd say is something camera related, on land the R button centers the camera, but underwater the camera works different plus Banjo doesn't stop moving, so I guess it "centers" the axis of his movement instead

yeah that makes sense. it's a combo of the different between the A and B button movement underwater, and the fact that the camera keeps messng me up, so if I had to guess, Ii'd say this is gong to be enourmously helpful.

Getting back into the swing of things.
Managed to convinvce my bro to start playing Divinity: Orign Sin II with me, so that's eating up alot of my spare time over the next month or so, but I'm gonna try and beat this too! ::fire

I'll aim for 100%, but ngl though, if I'm not sure where missing items are or how to get them, I'ma look up what I need to do. xD

Also, thanks for useful i-frame info @ThirteeTooBeets , glad you got the Vita emu working @ThatOneLum , and hope you figured out a solution for recording @diapered :]

Finally starting my playthrough, I think I'm gonna go slow and try to do at least one level per day (not every day, I need variety in my gaming palete plus work tires me).

Not a speedrunner by any means but I'm pretty sure this is my fastests Mumbo's Mountain so far.
Also remember to take note of what Brentilda says, it might be useful ::winkfelix

see, now you say you're not an expert, but thanks to you advice I've actually delt with Treasure Trove Cove and Clanker's Cavern!!!

Gonna take a break for the rest of the day now. I have no idea how to unlock the next level entrance lol

Forgot where the last Jiggy was so I took a bit more than expected::warcraft-skeleton

Decided I might as well hop in on this months nostalgia society game seeing as I'll have a lot of free time this week and I just finished my FF IX replay. Off to a good start so far

Yeah they are!

Gonna take another run at it today as well, try and get more of the levels closed out. I think I'm currently on the ice level?

Okay, ice-place and sand-place done.
I dunno how many levels there are left but I am sort of looking forward to the spooky haunted house level.

Also I have 0 regrets for missing those two jiggies. These ice physics are killing me.

I died when I was almost done, so I had to go get all the notes back, pretty embarassing time considering this is my favorite level but at least it's done

Another one let's go.
The last three levels after this one is when the game starts to show a bit more of a challenge, so I'm gonna rest and go back to just one level per day I think, it's gonna get frustrating

You guys are killing, I'm still in Clanker's Cavern, not much time to play lately🥲

Echoing what Dan said, you guys are on a roll - I still need to clear Clankers Cavern and move onto the Ice Zone.

I'm still determined to beat the game before the month's end - Gruntilda's goin' down!
