It's December 1st, and that means it's time for this year's final RGT Nostalgia Society!!! This is the club were we all get together and play on particular game. This month we're playing Zone of the Enders by Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima:

This is a mecha combat game with a dark edge, because of course it does.

Grab the ROM from the Repo, install it on your emulator (or OG hardware) of choice, and get playing!!

I got one of those magazine CDs long ago and it had the Japanese trailer for Zone of the Enders 2. The most advanced thing I had played before was Majora's Mask on the N64. To this day I still remember that after the trailer was over the screen would go dark for a while and then show a scene of the Mech aim locking dozens of enemies at the same time and young me was like

I've played zoe before too! This is the first thread with a game I have played before, so it is the first one that is actually directly nostalgic for me Should be fun ^_^

After replaying this, I am definitely going to play 2. Seems like no better opportunity 2 has been on my backlog since I heard this song... I love it so much, but have never played the game >_<

I'm gonna add the european version of the game to my PS2 harddrive today. Planning on an OG hardware playthrough as much as possible. I would be playing a phsyical copy but I CBA to go as far as a local CEX to buy a copy lmao

Not off the top of my head , but with component you should be able to get up to 1080p resolution, so long as you have the right cable or converter. For OPL I use the converter pictured below with HDMI cable.

Ooo I have one of those for my Wii lmao

I've been using this cable for a while because I thought my TV didn't support composite video input, then found out that modern tvs have a hybrid composite/component system and realized Id wasted my money -.-

Still, 720p isn't anyting to be sniffed at. I'll probably try and get my hands on the HDMI converter instead, since it'll probably have better output than my current setup.

Then again, maybe I'll wait. I'm still trying to convince myself its worth investing in a proper OSSC or RetroTink Upscaler, but I'm also a cheap cunt.

In case anyone else decides to try and go for the mastery for this game, let me save you a few hours:

Damage to towns carries over from boss battles. So if you want an A rank from the second SOS mission (Town 1) you have to purposefully bait the second boss Tempest into doing attacks that do not cause damage to the environment, otherwise it will be impossible for you to get a good rank during the rescue mission.

A bit late to the party, but I've got my copy right here! I bought this ages ago in a Walmart bargain bin back when they still carried PS3 games for like 5 bucks but I never ended up playing it. Got it together with Ni no Kuni and remember all of my time went into that (game is very long). Anyway I don't think I'll have time to finished it this month but I'll finally give the game a go.
