It's another month coming to a close, and that means another nominations thread for the nostalgia society!!!

If you're not already familiar, this is a club we have where we get together every month and try to play through a new game. This thread is a place to get a chance to nominate a game for next months playthrough.

There is only one major rule for nominations:

  • NOMINATED GAMES MUST BE AVAILABLE ON THE REPO AND YOUR NOMINATION HAS TO COME WITH A REPO LINK TO COUNT

We do this to make sure it's as fair, accessible and playable as possible for everyone on the site. Other than that, go nuts!

I'll avoid making a nomination yet as we have plenty of time until the Poll goes live (I'll put it up on the 28th)

If you want know more, check out the previous Nostalgia Society Threads:

RGTNS #1 - Parasite Eve
RGTNS #2 - Vagrant Story
RGTNS #3 - Einhander
RGTNS #4 - Shining in the Darkness
RGTNS #5 - Clock Tower Deluxe

I didn't even know this topic, I liked it, I think I'm going to play this Pikmin

Oh damn, only one week left for Clock Tower and I still haven't really dived in >_> Like I said itt, it only feels appropriate to play it at night for me for spooky vibes and my evenings can get busy ::sadkirby but I should be able to get it done. Also, got distracted playing Suikoden 3 again :loldog

Speaking of Suikoden, I have never played the other ones and I remembered a post by @tenkai star about the series awhile ago and made me want to check out Suikoden II, so I nominate that.

I know it's an rpg and so a little long, but it doesn't seem to be that long of a game? At least doesn't seem as long as vagrant story: that felt like it took forever and turned into a chore...

I'd ask if I can nominate again, but I already know which one is gonna win 😅

Since people here seem to like JRPGs, what about this one? It's one of the iconic ps2 games I still haven't played yet.

I'm not into the contest but I recently played this one and it's been cool, also fitting for the season for people who like Halloween (horror genre)! I must admit savestates on emu have saved me lots of angry moments because of the judgment ring in some later boss, and I went with the non-canon ending because yes (no spoiler, but anyone who wants them can easily read a wikipedia). I'm not going to play "Covenant" because it follows the canon ending of the first (and I don't like it very much), also I saw gameplay videos and I think I'll stop with the first.

I'm nominating Exile. If it gets picked we HAVE to play the Un-working Designs hack, the original English release is absolutely busted. It's a side scrolling action RPG similar to Ys III.

I got the ending that leads to covenant because I wasn't playing with a guide, but afaik there is no "canon" ending for the first game. because of time travel shenanigans both endings are canon
