This will be the start of the series of album reviews I put out.
Starting with, one of my new favorite albums of 2025!

Shearling is a recently formed experimental/noise rock and coming out of LA. They have been performing around the US for a while now, but that isn't very important.

This is their debut album, being a single hour long song.

The album tends to lean into elements of late 80s industrial rock, such as big black, along with brutal prog acts of the mid 2000s such as Hella. This combo leads to a very harsh, almost relentlessly angry album that always holds your attention. It falls flat with some of its pacing, but listening to some of their live performances of this album, they seem to have improved. The material is pretty creative as a whole, and if you like oddball rock like I do, you will probably dig it.

8/10
