As for a function i think get's a bad rap but is overhated, i guess i'd say lack of story in a game, a game doesn't necessarily need a story to be fun, while i am a MASSIVE rpg fan, sometimes you just want to spend 5 minutes in a game instead of scrolling through text or listening to something.
