Capcom surprised everyone during the last Nintendo Direct with the announcement that Resident Evil Requiem will be released on February 27, 2026 simultaneously for Nintendo Switch 2 , PlayStation 5 , Xbox Series X|S and PC .
Now one detail is causing a stir in pre-orders the physical Switch 2 version could be cheaper than the competing versions.
Price difference at Amazon UK
According to current Amazon UK listings the Nintendo Switch 2 version is priced at £59.99. For comparison the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X|S RRPs are £69.99 this is a difference of £10. Amazon has now reduced the price to £64.95 and reducing the difference. It's obvious that the Switch 2 version will be released as a software key card (with a mandatory download instead of a full game cartridge) which is becoming more common with major third-party titles on the current Nintendo console.
