This is the last of the original RE trilogy, and I'd say it was a very good closing! One of the best points of the game is the atmosphere, it perfectly makes you fell lost in a intimidating big city at complete chaos, where BOWs are being deployed for research, and you became part of the expirement. The story is simple but very well put, survive the horde and find a way out of this mess of a city, it does not drag on or add uninteresing side stories.
Another plus are the characters. Jill Valentine is still one of the best female main characters OAT, she is an awesome bland of badass and relatable personality. Carlos is a fun guy with a good heart. And of course we have Nemesis, the selling point of the game, he is perfectly done gameplay wise. He will appear at moments you least expect and leave with the choice of running or fighting him, and you have to actually put tought in to it, because if you run you will have ammo for exploring but will have weaker weapons, but if you confront him you will be rewarded by getting weapons that are direct upgrades in trade of using lots of ammo (like an investiment). Nemesis is incredible design wise, him getting burnt and later coming back all fucked up and mutating is very well done.
The weapons in this game fell very good to use, especially the pistol is great at clearing zombies while exploring and the shotgun is incredible at clearing the path from strong enemies and multiple zombies. The upgrades fell even better, with the upgraded pistol sometimes one shotting zombies and the shotgun getting higher DPS.
Now, I talked about the good part of the game, everyone knows about most of that stuff, but there is something that bothered me after finishing the game.
The game is too easy and too short. While you may have a hard time at the beginning, the game starts to get easy after leaving the police station ( a shell of what it used to be in RE2, sadly) and gets too easy when you get to the clock tower, the game throws ammo at you (in powder of course, wich you have to transform into ammo with a annoying mechanic, that lets be honest, you will only be making pistol and shotgun ammo) to a point that it's not even a survival horror anymore. If you want to have an actual hard time here's a challenge: fight nemesis at every opportunity but dont use the weapons he drops. And about the game being short, after getting to the clock tower, you get through places so quickly that when you notice, you are fighting the last boss in minutes.
In conclusion, RE3 Nemesis is a atmosphere driven game with good gameplay, but has it's flaws. I'd still say it's a very good closing because it finishes the raccon city story line and starts another one, the search and fight against BOW organizations.
Made a code veronica review some time ago, will make another one for the original re2 in the future, thanks for reading!
