Hi everyone,
I’m trying to figure out whether it’s realistically possible to create a proper FreeCam for Tekken 4 on PCSX2.
I was inspired by this:
WitheringRoom Freecam
(https://github.com/moonlessformless/ps2_cam_acolyte)
I can find values that seem to influence the camera, but:
If someone here has worked on similar camera hacks before and would be interested in taking a closer look, I’d be very curious to hear your thoughts or see what might be possible.
Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for any insight
I’m trying to figure out whether it’s realistically possible to create a proper FreeCam for Tekken 4 on PCSX2.

What I’ve already tried
- PCSX2 Nightly with debug features enabled
- PCSX2 debugger and Cheat Engine
- Scanning for float values related to camera movement
- Comparing changed vs unchanged values while moving or rotating the camera
- Testing different stages and camera states
I can find values that seem to influence the camera, but:
- The camera appears tightly bound to player or gameplay logic
- Values are constantly overwritten
- Movement snaps back or remains constrained
- I haven’t found a reliable way to fully decouple it
My questions
- Does anyone here have experience with PS2 camera systems?
- Is this realistically doable or is the camera logic just too deeply integrated?
- And if someone with the right experience were to look into this, would it even be a reasonable or interesting project to attemptt
If someone here has worked on similar camera hacks before and would be interested in taking a closer look, I’d be very curious to hear your thoughts or see what might be possible.
