I know that the reaction score pretty much already fulfills the suggestion to a degree, and while it is efficient, it just doesn't have the same flare as something the very very first forum I was apart of had. It was a "reputation bar" a bar that would increase or decrease* depending on what type of likes or dislike were gained from post. The likes would give green while dislikes gave you red (*so there really wasnt a decrease in how you think). I know disliking is something that is no longer practiced, but even so some people meticulously sought it out it as is sometimes even just blatantly asking for it, and since it was difficult as no one really followed it, it didn't immediately slight you when you had one. In fact it was quite the opposite as far as I could tell.

In addition to having the bar there were also different levels that were indicated solely by a custom messages that accompanied it you would see when scrolling over or clicking the bar. As an example the highest green would have "Cardboardtubeknight has broken through the heavens" where having the highest red would be "Cardboardtubeknight is the scurge of the internet".

I think to keep things still how they are, where disliking is unfavorable, to gain red would just be the "::angrygenjin Anger" option and an additional new "Dislike" option depicted with maybe Waluigi giving a thumbs down, so ultimately there would only be 2 options for red while green has the rest of the reactions, and the customized message when scrolling the bar could be more video game oriented such as with all green: "Cardboardtubeknight is cool enough to beat Ridley" or all red "Cardboardtubeknight is now suffering from Dracula's curse" so on and so forth.

When young and having a dumb worm filled brain the "reaction bar" provided more dopamine than I care to admit, so I feel having it would be a good way to entice activity and interaction, though again as I mentioned the reaction score does suffice, its just an additional bar would be pretty cool. Anyway thanks for reading.

I don't really see the point of this.

There's plenty of uses both fundamentally and in aesthetics. Think of it with how youtube used to have it, the ratio gave you a notion to exactly how a video was to be precieved before even viewing it. In a forum someone that actually had been given a red reputation and not meticulously could be someone that has more spicier opinions so then you would know to a degree what to look out for. Thats the fundamental aspect. As for the other, its just cooler than it sounds. Every "level" depicted by the customized message was a different message entirely. When young the forum I was apart of I only had so much so the actual message was "Username has ascended" and because it was determined only by a message once the bar got so filled there were a lot of them, so members that have more creative juices that they want to get out could pitch in if they'd like.

On YouTube it was a great feature because you could easily tell if a video was clickbait or not straight away. I don't think a system like that makes sense for forum users though.

Maybe not now, but back during the wild west days of the internet if you will, it definitely was needed. Thats why I said the reaction score does suffice. The suggestion is more on the aesthetic side than the fundamentals, though there are fundamentals.

We already have plenty of aesthetic options.
