Well, here we are in Sept 2025, and around 20 years ago this month. Some truly awesome games were released, and 1 specific forgotten game I want to give the spotlight to in this post is Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy),Released in September 16,2005 .My opinion is that the first 3 hours of this game were some of the best storytelling in video games I've ever played, but unfortunately it all goes downhill after that; Lucas turns into Neo moment. So what are your thoughts about this game overall? Did it have huge potential to be one of the best PS2 games ever?

I think Fahrenheit is far from being "forgotten" but that highly depends on your informational bubble. As for the game itself, I agree that it starts very strong but goes completely off the rails with kung fu and doomsday cult stuff. Some people love how insane it is, as for me, I couldn't enjoy it even as "so bad that its good" game. I guess Cage just can't write cohesive stories.

Man, it had such a cool premise. The whole murder mystery with you playing as both the murderer and the cops had massive potential. Sadly, your choices ultimately don't matter at all since the plot is linear to a fault and it doesn't matter what you do. All the events that the game needs to happen WILL happen and there's nothing you can do about it. That and the overabundance of superfluous minigames are my main gripes even early on. Later, as you said, the narrative goes completely off the rails and it just becomes an incomprehensible mess.

It sure is a David Cage game ::winkfelix .

I agree that the initial hours of the game is good but this game has the worst controls and quick time events I saw which is the point of this game that is why the game is a mixed bag of being liked and hated. Imagine you have to manually make your character stand up by following the guide on the screen for which angles you should move the analog that is a slow process sometimes and then when you fail your character slowly reverses back to sitting animation state ayy lmao. And not to mention the level that whole furniture in your home attacks you and you have to deal with for like an hour is so BS I would rather play Silver Surfer on NES lol, and I remember that level had BS checkpoints that you mostly have to play again most of them if you fail or there was no checkpoint at all IDK I don't remember lol.

And these developers relesed some new games that has the same BS gameplay but I was never interested in them. It's one of those "good idea bad execution" cinematic experience BS game style lol.

one " Naster nachtitlan kastanechli Quechnitlan naar" away and every piece of furniture gets thrown at you. that's some strong ass magic right there haha. harry potter has no chance against this guy 🤣🪄🪄🪄

Yeah, I remember Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy) pretty well. That opening scene in the diner was intense, definitely one of the most gripping starts to a game I’ve played. The way it let you control multiple characters and shape the story felt super fresh at the time.

But I agree, after the first few hours, things got a bit wild. Lucas turning into a Matrix-style action hero kind of pulled me out of it. It felt like the game couldn’t decide if it wanted to be a grounded thriller or full-on sci-fi.

Still, I think it had a lot of potential. It laid the groundwork for games like Heavy Rain and Detroit: Become Human, so even if it didn’t fully stick the landing, it definitely made an impact.

I remember I had a demo disc on the PS2 that included a demo for this game, but my wimpy ass was way to terrified by the initial cutscene xD. It took me a few years to actually play the complete demo and I loved the concept. I know Quantic Dreams games are not everyone's cup of tea and that they're not the best games storytelling-wise, but I love that genre honestly. I wish more games like that were made with actual deep wide branching stories.

I used to have more demo discs than actual games for PSX and PS2 now that I think about it lol.

I was aware of this game a while, but ultimately only experienced it through Accursed Farms' video.

His earlier game Omikron was on Dreamcast. I've always heard mixed things about David Cage's games. I bought it on Steam, but never played it.

I enjoyed it the first time but then just forgot about the game. I never had the urge to play it again.
