Alright, guys. It's part 3 of this series, and today's pick is Ultimate Spider-Man. Released on September 22, 2005, around that time, Spidey was everywhere literally, and many Spidey games were released pretty much yearly, some good. some were bad, but Ultimate Spider-Man was on a different tier entirely. Since this game has been reviewed on YT too much, I will just give my opinion on it. It's in the A tier, right below the 2018 Marvel Sony game. It even beats Web of Shadows for me. You could even play as Venom in this game, surprisingly. something even Marvel's Sony hasn't done yet. to anyone who hasn't played this game yet. Go get it. It's worth every penny.

Oh its not forgotten at all, I think I saw its trailer in the extra section of spiderman 2 or some other activision game! I remember thinking it looked so cool

Funny that to this day, its the only proper open world spiderman game where you play as venom, I heard the ps4 spiderman 2 only lets you play as him on a select few levels

I guess the only other open word venom game is Prototype

I actually started this game over and over again from the beginning and wanted to finish it but for some reason always something got in the way so I stopped playing it. Before my PS2 dies I better finish this game lol.

it's literally regarded as one of the best Spider-Man game, not forgotten at all.
Yeah. Even the legendary Spider-Man game on PS1 is not forgotten, but I do sometimes forget Spider-Man games before PS1-era lol. Though for me to forget the existence of this game I need a brain injury or neurological conditions like Alzheimer's and whatnot lolol.

This is my go-to Spider Man game, I like the cel shaded art and you can play as Venom freely after the story is done. Story is short but fun, you can finish this in 6 to 8 hours.

I love this game. I play through it roughly every 3 years ever since I was like 9, but that being said, I feel people are way too quick to overlook this game's shortcomings. Imo, it's the best Spider-man game but it's also not even close to being the best a spider-man game could be

well well well. looks like this game is not forgotten at all and everyone loves it. too bad a sequel wasn't made. who had the rights to the spidey games back in those days? sony?

Everything in the game is rad. I feel like they really nailed the fundamental mechanics; more than any other, this game made me feel like spider-man. Great game. However, in some regards I feel the developers could have pushed the conceit a little more. More variety to the levels, and a smoother progression would have went a long way. Tbf, I'm only saying this as a person that's played it a bunch (and funnily enough I played through it again last month so maybe too fresh on the mind), but I just think they had this really amazing base with a lot of potential, and only tapped into 75% of it, and then never really built off of this formula with follow up attempts.

I personally like the web swinging mechanics on this one. It's just a tad more skill-based, and not very overtly flashy, but when you pull off something slick it feels really earned. And don't even get me started on the insanity of trying to beat some of those "Ultimate" level race times...

Awesome game. Coulda used some more time in the oven

Edit: Btw, I believe Sony doesn't and has never ACTUALLY owned the exclusive rights to make Spider-man games. Obvs, they had the film rights, but from what I read, they do the games on a deal-by-deal basis, even now with the Sony games. Spidey is far too lucrative

Edit Edit: "Exclusive license" = Sony can tap if they text in advance

about the web swinging mechanics. the game released the previous year in 2004. the ps2, gamecube, xbox version of the game have better web swinging.it's more physics based
