Remember The Game Dude? (It's messed up)

Remember browsing YouTube in the 2010s and marvelling at the kind of... unhinged recommendations the algorithm would throw your way after you'd watched the latest AVGN/Nostalgia Critic/Game Grumps video? You were certainly given plenty of options to continue feeding your “angry-style reviewer” vice, even when most of it was unintentionally hilarious.

Yeah, a lot of them were just horrible messes put together by amateurs who lacked both the tools and the technical know-how to make anything better... but there's no sense in knocking anyone down for not producing anything with anywhere near the quality of content put out by career filmmakers like James and Doug — there was simply no comparison to be had (and some of them actually made some damn valiant efforts regardless).

But the problem was that not everyone was playing a character when they presented themselves as unhinged nerds... and that's kind of where our story goes.

I will admit that I had never heard about this “Game Dude” character prior to this very afternoon (language barrier and all), but I'm kind of glad I didn't because, well, I probably wouldn't have stayed for more than one video regardless and...

You know what? Just watch the video instead:

I'll just say that this story goes from “funny” to “second-hand embarrassment” to “WTF did I just watch?” blazingly fast... and while the reasons behind it are hugely troubling, it's a damn entertaining mess regardless.

I discovered him a couple years back. He's an... odd specimen, to say the least. His videos are nowhere near as good as AVGN or even the Irate Gamer. I was shocked to find out that he's been running from the law for many a year due to him harassing some girl a LOT and never taking the hint.

I've genuinely never heard of this dude lol. Then again I mostly stick to watching older AVGN videos or Game Center CX (the REAL "game dude", or should I say "game comedian" ;D).

I will say, he does remind me a bit of how TVFilthyFrank2 was a clone channel that popped up after Joji left the original channel. Personally hated him, honestly I generally dislike most clone channels because they rely on a gimmick and oh man TVFF2 had such shitty fans that outright attacked you for calling him a clone. That was years ago, so his channel thankfully died down, But seeing as how forgotten this failed AVGN clone is, I guess he never got a decent community after all.

SirStrongman's overview was good. I'll probably end up watching his other videos. Some people who do videos like this can be a little dry. Strongman was pretty funny
