Cartoons Remember Boomerang?

Boomerang died an undignified death. Back when I had cable, it rebranded into a dumping ground for shows not on Cartoon Network anymore and some random shit like My Knight and Me. They even removed the old bumpers and songs. I think it's a streaming service now.

So it even lost its identity? I wasn't even the place where you went to watch Top Cat?

Ooooooh yeah. I remember it all too well. My family, bless them, was doing very badly during the 2008 U.S. financial crash. We dropped much of our cable at the time and most of what I had was Boomerang, Disney XD, and whatever else was cheap.

Around 2011 is when we got streaming. It’s only been 14 years since then, but a lot has changed, and at that point Netflix was all you ever could’ve wanted or needed.

Still, I’m happy I had Boomerang. Got to grow up on some classic stuff, and it was shows my family was excited to show me from their own childhood. My parents did a very good job making me feel good during a time where things were going poorly for us. I didn’t even know we were struggling until years later.
It's good you and your family are doing better since then.

Yeah. I’m happy we are where we are at now. I’m so proud of my family for sticking through it, coming out the other side, and making sure they had the funds to put us kids through college.

School may be a pain, but I will not lie: I feel like I owe it to them to do the best I can. They did all this for me, so now I gotta give back like I’m Santa Claus, you feel?

Yep, it makes sense.

I remember watching on it a few times but I can't remember which shows, besides Looney Tunes and classic Care Bears. And it is because of Care Bears that I remember Boomerang.

Did anyone else watch episodes of Paw Paws/Paw Paw Bears on Boomerang?

I've seen a bit of Top Cat years ago.

I recall watching Boomerang every so often. Like trickybus, I also mainly remember some of the bumper songs. It looks like they aired on Boomerang from 2005 to 2015. Here are the ones that I remember from back then:

Back to the Lab - Dexter's Lab

Gorilla for Sale Featuring Magilla Gorilla - Michael Ungar

Boomerang ruled. Especially for Scooby-Doo and Top Cat. Swapping between those and Sky Games to play Beehive Bedlam, Ginger Ninja and King Tut's Tomb. Awesome.

They also did loads of re-runs of the the original Sonic the Hedgehog animated series and later Sonic Underground. I used to really appreciate how they made Dr. Robotnik sound so deliciously evil. A stellar performance by Jim Cummings, amongst his many others.

In Australia boomerang to me was the channel that played so many cartoons adapted from video games. Sonic Sat AM, Captain N, Super Mario World, that weird ass CGI Donkey Kong show where there was inexplicably a musical number every episode??
