Remakes\Enhanced Ports you'd actually want

China Warrior/The Kung Fu. Make it 2.5D, add in enemy and boss variety, and get rid of most non-human hazards/traps and I'm there.

I would love a remake of the original Legend of Zelda, but in the art style of the Switch remake of Links' Awakening.

man i really do hope they make a remake of Tomba 2 instead of "enchanted graphics" remaster bs without adding anything new to the gameplay

I want remakes of the Mother/Earthbound series with a graphical style similar to the Link's Awakening remake, but unfortunately I think Itoi is done with the series beyond merchandising.

Any Rune factory before the 3

A full blown remake of Final Fantasy 6, as many others have probably said by now XD it'd be lovely to see what a new take on it could be, with nothing stopping its vision.

Also maybe a Fire Emblem 6 and 7 remake, the games are fine as is (well 7 is) but I think a remake could give them a chance to really fix the story issues that came from 6's barebones writing. FE6 also could really use some revamping to its balance, wyvern hell is funny but also really stupid.

SEGA should do a collab with Capcom, and remake the old Resident Evil clone, Deep Fear (Sega Saturn). Doing a remake and adding actual terror/horror, aside from the designs of the mutated monsters would do wonders. Have the RE teams work on it.

Would be nice if I didn't have to set cycles to 7500. Hearing this game in mt32 is pretty nice tho. Wish this game got voice acting for every mission briefing

If they did a remake of Sweet Home, that would be cool. I know it was the inspiration for Resident Evil, would be cool to play an updated version.

It's not happening, but a full Shining Force III remake is my dream. It's an early 3D game so it hasn't aged the best in terms of visuals.

This game given the rebrushed treatment and co-op would be perfect. I love Epic Mickey 2 and it think it deserves a second shot.

Epic Mickey fan detected, new friend added ::heart

I loved both games at release, but i admit time wasn't that graceful with them, let's hope the Rebrushed 1 sells enough for 2 to get Rebrushed too

Less of a remake ala modern graphics but....

I feel like we need a "remake" of SotN ala Sonic remakes in mobile phones. Same assets (graphics, sound, mechanics) all redone in a new engine that includes all the features from the PSP AND Saturn versions, so that all the content is in one neat package.

The other remake i want is less of a remake and more of a re-imagining, and that is Simon's Quest. It could be a in-name-only remake and i would be okay with that, since what i want is a Moden Metroidvania starring Simon Belmont and the premise is more of an excuse due to Simon's Quest being the progenitor to the Metroidvania genre, so it would be a fitting way of going full-circle.

I guess also Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. That game has my favorite KH story but its gameplay is tedious. Just put Re:Coded Combat into the game, remove the dreadful panel system and that enough would be a huge upgrade.

A remake of Metal Gear 1 and 2, literally easy money Konami come on, imagine getting the Solid Snake origin story done in the Snake Engine.

Also a Devil May Cry 2 Remake, why Capcom hasn't thought about it is beyond me, with the recent boner they have for remakes why not do it with the bad games? instead of doing it with the games that were(and still are) actually good, why not give the black sheep a chance for once?

Just came to see where we were at, but you know what:

F the remakes how about making a complete, non-buggy, not microtransactioned to death new game IP? Anyone....
If they can't make remakes right what makes you think a new game is even gonna come out good? let alone decent?

Lmao.

Think for a second. They are already working with a solid template and still mess it up (and i don't mean "waaaah the game is souless now", i mean Black Flag's remake pig has a fucking health bar kind of thing.)

Honestly, I got DMC5 and Bayonetta 3 for that, so I am okay. I can see why, but that's probably never happening, because it's based off of a light novel series, and Capcom does not own it.

I wouldn't mind that either, but I got Bulletstorm.

Comix Zone
and Vectorman can use a good reboot/remake/re-imagining. More so Comix Zone.
Demolish Fist
could use a remake, because the better versions of that game are Double Dragon Revive and Rushing Beat X.

I wouldn't mind a remake of Bujingai: The Forsaken City, but it has GACKT as the literal main character, so good luck seeing that again. Good thing Lost Soul Aside exists.

One of the songs in the game, is reused from the final level (Buttville - The Descent) of Earthworm Jim CD/PC version.

You don't look hard enough. There are great remakes out there which either compliment the originals, or outright makes them look like shit by comparison. Blind cynicism or optimism will always be a person's worst enemy. Cynicism in your case. View a gaming world unclouded by hate and self-defeatism.

"Erm Remakes are always inferior" is just xitter egagement bait. We have gotten remakes since the 6th Gen and most of them have been recieved with open arms. You don't see Metroid fans going "erm Zero Mission i hecking SoUlEss". Most modern remakes sucking balls is because the industry in general has been sucking, not because remakes are some evil that must be destroyed. If these developers were creating new entries instead of remakes a lot of the critcisms (UE5 looking graphics, physics issues, watering down mechanics) would still apply. Super Mario RPG Remake came out a few years ago and nobody was complaining because it was a damn good remake, take it from someone who has played the original as a 13 year old kid. Its a developer issue, not a remake issue.

I will coincide that we have an overabundance of remakes nowadays and its clearly a crutch, but that is a side effect of game development ever increasing. The real answer would be making shorter-end games with less graphical intensity and going more experimental, but the people that complain about remakes almost never talk about these games whenever they come out.

Thank you for speaking the truth. People need to get the fuck off social media, and stop living in echo chambers, "engaging with each other". It's why I don't even bother with Twitter, nor Blue Sky to a lesser extent. Twitter is still the worst.

Even then, still not by much, and there are plenty of new, non-remake games, coming out this year, from last year, and next year.

but the people that complain about remakes almost never talk about these games whenever they come out.
Because they're liars, grifters who always have to control the narrative to be negative, delusional fools, and bitches in boxstands who will never amount to anything in life, but being the biggest bitches possible without wanting/having to admit it.

You'll probably get a remake of DMC1 before DMC2. I've seen many more people wish for a DMC1 Remake or hoping it gets announced at the next SOP. I would not mind either one, but I would prefer the first game for plot and story reasons, before jumping straight into DMC2 out of the gate. If the first two Oneechanbara games can get a remake combined into one game, then anything is possible.

I'm really disliking the adjective "soul" to define a game.

I've seen few Metroid purists telling how Zero Mission "ruined the vibe" when it's still a great remake.

If I had to pick a game to give the remake treatment to, it'd be Fragile Dreams. It is one of my all-time favorite games, but it's sadly stuck on the Wii, largely forgotten to time. The controls are very clunky, but the story and characters have heart and it is masterful at making you and the world feel lonely. If they could remake it with better, and more standard, controls, and preserve the artistic style while improving the graphics, I would be in heaven.

And while this may not be to everyone's tastes, I would like remakes of Halo 2, 3, and ODST. People don't like admitting it, but the games are dated visually. Halo 3 and ODST's art styles do a lot of heavy lifting in terms of preserving them in the longer term, but they have a ton of rough edges, like being able to count the polygons on a characters head. ODST was supposed to have a torrential downpour, but due to engine limitations it was reduced to a barely visible drizzle. Halo 2 Anniversary did a lot to pretty up Halo 2, but the shaders often appeared broken (And digging into the shader files practically confirms that it was supposed to look better than it did.) and there was still room for improvement. As much as I'd love for them to retain their art styles in a transition to modern graphics, I have no doubts that they would share the same artstyle as Halo Campaign Evolved for the sake of consistency as well as ease of reusing assets. But I could live with that to see these games reborn with modern visuals even if the preservation aspect isn't perfect.

Addendum: I love the emptiness and loneliness of the original game with black backgrounds and that great minimalistic sounding OST (for the Item Room) yet I also feel that people forget the tediousness of the game with the lack of crouching, not being able to aim down nor having any ways to refill Energy and Missiles without spending time to grind.

Nostalgia plays for a lot (and technical limitations as well) but if a remaster enhances or fix some of the flaws it should never be a problem outside of purists who would play the originals to begin with.

I will say tho, that i kinda prefer Fan-remakes over official remakes nowadays. Modern Remakes care way too much about graphical fidelity (which is understandable when its a 5th gen game but not so much when its a late 6th gen game onward, i don't see much of an improvement from Black Flag to Black Flag re-synced since realistic graphics have reached diminshing returns since the mid-8th gen) while Fan-Remakes focus on quality of life improvement that make the game easier to pick up and play, even if they use the same graphical assets from the original, the gameplay feels improved much more in these remakes.

Mega Man Dxtreme is a good example of this. Same basic game, but it feels more smooth to play and has neat new features. Many fan remakes do suffer from beign made by amateurs so some of them are hit and miss, but i think the likes of Zelda 2 PC remake are also a good example of a fan-remake done right.

ar tonelico just the ehanced ports and thats only about it
