What is a chill sims or simulation game with loose objectives that can be played on a phone or emulator?

I guess one of the handheld consoles would be easier to emulate through my phone, but if you have a recommendation for another console, I can try to play it through my laptop. Thanks!

Rune Factory 3. DS game like Harvest Moon but with more story focus, combat, and no time limits. I also like RF1 but it's rough. It's missing the QoL mechanics that makes RF3 so smooth to play.

It really doesn't count but Old School RuneScape is as chill as you can get and it's on phone, although it's more comfortable to play on a pc, but still

There's also a RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 port for phones

SimCity, SimEarth, and SimAnt all got pretty user-friendly ports for the SNES. I would recommend them all, in that order. Of the three, I like SimEarth the best, but SimCity is considered an all-time classic, so it is definitely worth a try, too.

Tomodachi Life (3DS), or Tomodachi Collection (DS) is always a good time. I like to mess around in CK 2 (I’m not very good at it tbh). Animal crossing (your choice), and Style Savvy (DS) do have an objective to work towards but tons of wiggle room. I recommend also looking at the Harvest moon series

Does the Petz series count? Because if so, Petz 4 would definitely be my recommendation.
The community is still going strong as well.

Although it might be a bit difficult to run on a phone.

In which case, I'd recommend one of the Animal Crossing games.

Monster Rancher. :loldog

For actual loose sim games, yeah Bokujou Monogatari (Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons/Rune Factory) are the comfiest along with Animal Crossing if you like online multiplayer. The Sims are pretty good as well. Sadly the rest kinda force you into strict objectives or plain not available on mobile (Tycoon series).

I've gotten really into The Sims 2 lately, not the newly released version, but one that has all the packs that was released years ago. Oh! I also tried The very first Sims game as well and I honestly find it to be so fun if a bit challenging. I believe The Sims 2 has a psp version but I think these games would be perfectly fine on a laptop.

Do raising sims count? They are kinda similar, with the difference being who's living. If they do count, Monster Rancher 2 is the best, if obtuse.

Given that people are also counting farming sims, Harvest Moon: Mineral Town (Friends or More Friends is up to you) is a good option, even if you deal with the bad translation work of Natsue.

It's not chill (because I find it tough), but ActRaiser blends a city builder with side-scrolling slashing action. I struggle with the boss rush at the end of the game.
