Recommend to me, a good survival horror to play

If you wanna go back to the classics, the original Alone In The Dark is still a joy to play, despite having aged like fine milk. It's a true Lovecraftian experience, and a surprisingly entertaining one, too.

I can still remember most of it despite not even touching it since the late 90s.

If you enjoy a good dose of lead with your horror, you might try Darkwatch for the PS2 and Xbox

Echo Nights from FromSoftware is old, but still ok to play.

If you want to try a topdown 2d one, i recommend Darkwood.

Or if you like me, MY MOST FAVORITE is the original Parasite Eve for the Ps1. I still play it even after 20+ years. 2 and 3rd birthday are ok, but the original is the best.

that's one I have been wanting to try, played the ps2 version years ago, didn't finish it sadly. Been hoping it would go on sale soon

Try Shadow of Memories! It’s a bit esoteric, and not really a survival so much so as it is a puzzle game but it’s got identical vibes to silent hill so you should try it!
is that the one where you time travel in on the ps2?

Pretty much this, and Galerians for PS1. Parasite Eve 1 and 2, and Galearians has an RPG element to it, but it's still enjoyable.

The Evil Within! got it for the 360 a few years ago. Got some stealth moments tho, but not as in like, Shattered Memories for example. great game 8/10

Yes it is!

I wouldn't personally classify Alone in the Dark(s) as horror games. I thought the series was more of action adventures with horror elements. Ditto for Echo Nights.

Yomawari, definitely recommend since it's a bit like an open-world horror experience. Though, again the horror mileage may vary.

Haunting Ground was good and personally I'd say it was better than Rule of Rose. Kuon was definitely unsettling, but I thought it was a bit of a shame that the concurrent storylines weren't quite consistent. I haven't yet finished Garage, but it's also an unsettling point-and-click game. Koudelka was an interesting experience; it was a horror story with RPG turn-based combat, fully voice-acted and motion-captured (if that's a word) and it had this charming theatricality to it. And multiple endings. In 1999, funny that.

I haven't yet played Forbidden Siren because I got stuck on the first game's atrocious dub. So a little heads-up on that.

As for newer ones I'd say Bramble The Mountain King was good, though it's more of a fairy tale with horror elements so not everyone's cup of tea. Viviette was okay, though it's a pixel-graphic horror game. But it's a classic spooky mansion, ghosts, and exploration while a monster chases after you. Song of Horror is a good point-and-click horror game, though I haven't finished it yet.

But as with everything else, the horror mileage may vary (and oops, you asked for survival horror). Hope you find something to play.

I, most certainly agree with you on the state of the Dub of Siren, it was awful and one of the reasons I stopped playing.
Song of Horror, I have that sitting unopened on my backlog shelf, might have to give it a go.

Just been wanting a good RE style survival horror game to play to take a break from the RPGs. Wish there were more Dino Crisis games

I finished the first one and back in the day got to the final boss on the second one and spent days trying to beat him and never could so I quit lol, great games otherwise

I always recommend Crow country

Also the Dead Space games have a lot of action specially the third game. The Evil Within series is also great but those are more stealthy, Kuon for PS2 is also decent and easy because some of the cards you use to attack are very broken, Signalis is also very good too and for last the Fatal Frame series. Those are the games I can think of at the moment.
