Hello everyone!

I have several article ideas that I would like to discuss with you and get your opinion on which categories I should focus on and which ones might be interesting for general viewing. I am considering the following genres:

1. “So Bad It’s Good”

Reviews of video games, consoles, and accessories considered to be of low quality. The articles will be written with humor to create a positive mood and highlight even the negative products’ positive aspects. The goal is to lift readers’ spirits and show that even in shortcomings, there can be something amusing.

2. “Retro Game Night”

Since my friends and I often gather on Saturdays to play on various consoles and retro games, and we also receive retro-themed packages from different countries, I plan to write articles motivating readers to engage in such activities. These will include reviews, opinions, recommendations, and related nuances. The aim is to interest and motivate readers to play retro games both solo and in groups, as well as to spark interest in collecting or purchasing retro accessories.

3. “Retro Accessories”

A vast number of accessories, joysticks, wheels, and other devices have been released on various gaming platforms. I plan to create brief yet informative articles reviewing different types of accessories, adding the history of their development or origin. The goal is to explain to readers the diversity of the gaming industry and provide them with more knowledge about various devices.

4. “What Might Be Interesting”

Articles that fully immerse readers in the lore of the reviewed object. These can cover topics related to games, development, people or companies that have influenced the industry, composers, screenwriters, gaming events, historical facts about gaming hardware, and more. The goal is to provide readers with new and interesting articles that expand their knowledge, deepen their understanding of the gaming community, and diversify their opinions on various aspects of the industry.

I would appreciate your opinions and recommendations on these ideas. Which ones are most interesting to you? What topics would you like to see on the forum? Your feedback will help me determine the direction for future publications.

A rule of thumb I have when it comes to writing is that anything can be good and engaging as long as you know how to write it as you want to write it. Sounds confusing? Yeah, cause it is. Writing in general is very complex but what I would suggest you do is just simplify what you want from the article, are you writing to inform us readers of something you are really excited to share or are you more inclined to write about something creative or a passion of yours? I think go with what gives you the most excitement as writing is neither fun to read nor write when you aren't doing it because you like it. So go with what you really enjoy, I am sure we will like whatever you write about as long as it's coming from what you enjoy.

Actually, that's actually what I came here to say! All of those ideas sound great and I simply encourage the OP to try their hand at whichever they want to write the most... I know for a fact that the vast majority of my articles were firmly in the "impossible to sell" category, but I'm glad I went for them.

Since you asked I’ll go with’So Good It’s Bad and Retro Game Night, we’ll this is RGT after all. And I know there’s a lot of things you could and wanted to write about and I’m all in for that.

I’d say you should definitely not worry. They’re not “impossible to sell” at all. At the risk of repeating something I already said, a gateway into cultural perspectives is something I hold very valuable.
