Funny thing though, in our local dub of the original Rurouni Kenshin, the title Hitokiri Battousai was translated into "Battousai ang Pusakal", in literal english Battousai the Street Cat

These gen 1 cores aren't as snappy as the one's from Rubicon, but I very much enjoy the CHONK.

Also, I found a fork of Duckstation that has netplay. Would anyone be interested in playing some Armored Core: Master of Arena sometime?

Very nice. I've been playing the early ones on PS Plus too, but some of those missions have been driving me insane. Like this

Trying to boost your way up the sideways spaceship is the most frustrating experience I've had in a video game ever. Other than that though, good stuff.

i still have the image of the acs i used to beat an armored core game for the first time a couple years ago (3 and sl respectively)

since then i've gone on to beat 1, 2, nexus, 4/6 endings in lr, 4, 2/3 endings in fa, and 6. while i appreciate the improved mission and boss design of 6, i still much prefer the controls and gameplay of pre 4th gen armored core to anything that came after.

also one of the weirder things i've done (this was before my first successful playthrough) was pretend that my ac was my muscle mommy gf that i don't have:

(i'm not even that much into muscle mommies so it's weird how it still makes sense to me)

i replaced her heavy core with a lighter one before abandoning this particular playthrough and it lk felt like body horror but also romantically tragic, like she was forced to twist and transform her body for my own good because i wasn't good enough at piloting a heavy biped.

For Controller's sake, that is dedication. Right now I'm in the middle of 3, and I just discovered giant electric spiders exist, and I couldn't be more terrified...

Quad legs are OP in the PSX Armored Cores. Check my build I powered through the game with it, not even needing human plus.

Don't spoil yourself too much with my cheap tricks tho... XD It's pure Fromsoftware design, there's always a way to make things easy by experimenting.

I think they look so cool :3 so I haven't played around with leg choices for AC2 (or really a lot of the other choices....), as long as mobility is good and lots of boost/cooling... But now I guess I gotta get more serious because this guy is kicking my ass: missiles are a no go, and you can't goad him into a sword fight which is how I beat the other tough ones ;_;

I can relate, I'm getting my core handed to me by this pretty-boy...

I've been trying everything my non-augmented human brain can think of, but he just keeps shooting handsome cannon blasts at me. And I've been degrading myself with gross corpo mission jobs just to afford to beat him. This life sometimes....
