Discovered this tonight been playing Raiden III and IV if its any good i might snap it up as its my birthday week
will be getting played on PS5 with 4K monitor.

Man if only SHMUPs were not so expensive to find Physically for the PS4.

I get all my PS4 games second hand for cheap, but no one plays SHMUPs in small cities in Mexico because these games must be ordered online, from overseas, so they rarely get sold if they are here.

I was tempted buying this one and R-Type Final 2 digitally, but then again.. for that I will just download it on PC... for free LOL...

I only believe in purchasing physical games, with rare exceptions... (like not finding them on the high seas)

The Raiden series is nice. I'd rec Sonic Wings, it's sequel just came out. Drainus, Sine Mora, Mushihimesama, Shikondo and Gigawing. Aside from the many classics.

I think 5 is a lot better than 3. 3 is the only Raiden game that I never loved. It always felt slow to me.
Oh yeah, Raiden 3 you definitely have to play it as a non-Raiden game. It's the odd ball of the series, but I don't think that makes it bad. Just like Cave has Guwange and Progear right? A little bit of variety can be fun.

But for me 5 is just so repetitive and I could not get any desire to understand the scoring system or even come close to 1cc. I just couldn't do it and I'm not sure why

I like the Raiden series but I haven't played V. Last one I played was Raiden IV Overkill on PS3.
