Question was 40 the only print number for 'Made in Mexico' SNES games?

Do you mean something like this? https://racketboy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=49037

It says that the copies made in Mexico had cheaper labels with no laminate. So the ink could rub off if you touched it too much. Although someone else says it's not that Mexican made carts are cheap. It's just the Majesco ones.

Also, this interested me:
Games "made in Mexico" are virtually identical to the Japanese-made games. I certainly cannot see or feel the difference in plastic or label. Examples are Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, DKC2, DKC3...

"Assembled in Mexico" are the ones to avoid. They have black and white manuals, and lower quality labels.

The thread mentions Genesis games as well. My copy of Phantasy Star 4 had a cardboard case instead of plastic and a black & white non-laminated manual. I got it at Game Gallery for $40 used in the mid 90s. It was a former rental copy. The rental label was over the cartridge label. I think it was West Coast Video. Maybe Hollywood. But I'm pretty sure it was West Coast.

That must have been a huge pain in the ass to spot a reproduction and original cartridges
