I have been really enjoying Psychonauts so far. Love the characters, world & twisted sense of humour.

So... does anyone have advice or like a proper guide for farming those psychic arrow heads? I was hoarding them because I figured they would be useful later in the story, but I still don't have nearly enough. I need 800 to buy a specific item to advance the story, but like 5 hours of game time and I only have like 180-190. I'm probably gonna stop playing altogether if I have to grind out another 600+ going one at a time...::cirnoshrug

*Someone on the forum did warn me about this when I said I would be playing Psychonauts, but I didn't expect it to be quite this trying on my patience::sailor-embarrassed

Solution
Sounds like you're much farther in the game than I was when I got it. With the Dousing Rod being only 50, it's not that much of a setback.

There is a cheat that will drop the max number of arrowheads on you, but I didn't want to suggest the cheap route unless you really wanted to go through with it (plus both the game itself calling you out for using it and the button layout is different depending on the version being played).
Oh, the Cobweb Duster. That's not really hard, but I'm not sure of where you are in the game, either.

You basically want to destroy everything you can destroy in the dream worlds. As for the real world, the Dousing Rod is needed to search for the bigger arrowheads. In the latter case, shut the music/voice setting off, keep SFX at max, then run around constantly using the Dousing Rod and keep track of the gauge.

You shouldn't take too long getting 800 here. I know I got it on my first run of this game without too much difficulty.

I'm at the point where:
I have to find the milk man, I think by going into that paranoid mailman's brain. It's telling me before I go in there that I have to get the cobweb duster

I'll give that advice a go, but I feel like I have been going out of my way to destroy stuff and look for secrets. Unless destructible objects respawn when you go back into levels?

It does feel a little counter-intuitive buying something else (the dousing rod) in order to afford what you need (cobweb duster) :loldog

Not that I'm personally against cheating in single player games, I do want to try and finish this one legit. If I do get really desperate, I can probably look that cheat up myself anyway::thank-you

Edit: I haven't done it yet, but the dowsing rod is speeding up the process quite a bit. Cheers! ::thank-you
