Hello guys and gals, I hope this message finds you comfy and in peace.

I post regarding the fan mod of Spyro 3, called. Spyro 3.5,
Is there a way to patch the Anticheat to play this on a modded PSOne?

I reckon Spyro 3 needs to be patched, but the patch goes over a virgin Spyro 3, not Spyro 3.5.
(Unless I am mistaken, hopefully)

I am using FreePSXBoot and I got the "Software Terminated" error due to modified console.
I imagined this reversion of the game would have patched the anticheat, I don't see a purpose of leaving that function in.

I already reached to the author at Twitter, but I have gotten no response.
Hopefully, someone could help shed some light on this.

Much appreciated, and much obliged!

Is it possible there's an old, non stealth modchip installed in your playstation? That would likely still cause the anti-piracy check to fail.
If you're using a slim ps1, I doubt that would be the reason though, non-stealth chips were long gone by the time the slim rolled around

It is weird though.

I have two PSOnes, the one with the best Laser Module is not chipped, but it had its Faraday Cage badly corroded by oxide, so I used only the Faraday Cage of the Chipped one (because its laser is not working well).

| could later try the chipped motherboard with the good Laser Module to check whether the chip is stealth...

But my issue is... my current configuration is VIRGIN Mother Board, with a FreePSXBoot memory card.
I had to patch DinoCrisis because it catched FreePSXBoot as if it is a non-stealth chip.
So I know I could simply patch Spyro 3.5, in theory.

But the patcher does not accept the checksum of the Spyro 3.5 ROM for obvious reasons.

I am surprised the author did not remove that "feature".

I don't know how helpful this will be because I don't have a softmodded ps1 to verify how it works but I was able to patch out the APv2 check that causes the software terminated message using APrip, then I applied the Forgotten Realms mod to that file without any issue.

Here's a link to APrip that I used

And a link to the Forgotten Realms mod I used, I chose v1.1.0 to test, but you probably already have that

This might just as well be the sought for solution!!

Too bad I finished burning the last lot of CDs
But I will order more next week and try this solution ASAP.

Of course I will let you know!
How did I not think of patching the anti-chip feature Spyro 3 before applying the game mod!?

Much obliged my friend!!

I'm glad I could help. Yeah definitely let me know how it goes, and if there's any issues I can look at it again.
Enjoy your game
