PS2 PS2 Hidden Gems

D.I.C.E is a good Racing/Beat em up mash up, IDk if it's based on an anime series but it reminded me of Zoids while i played it, i also loved its unique transparent casing, tried to look for it, but no luck, i fear it was sold or went missing, wich is a shame because bein a original disc i could still play it on PCSX2
Now I don't want to be that guy
But the Arabic opening is waaaay better

DQ IV and V on the PSX and PS2 deserved a western release.

I do love the DS remakes but they're "crunchier" (I don't mind that though).

I'm wondering why DQ VI didn't get remade tho.

I dislike English in the game too, phantomilian is a better language for whimsical worlds about dreams.

Same with Nights, Journey of Dreams having fully English voiced dialogues and cutscene kinda killed the mystic aspect of the series to me...

I'd love a proper remake of the WonderSwan + the first two GBA games too. Or maybe Heroes.

Or a simple compilation, anything is fine.

More people need to known the wonderswan game exists

No remakes

Thats right, that one technically advanced game on the mega cd has a sequel on the ps2! And it's from the same studio too!

  • Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (TPS)
  • Urban Reign (Beat-'em-up)
  • Sky Odyssey (Flight Sim)
  • Everblue 2 (Diving Sim)
  • 10,000 Bullets (Character Action)
  • The Nightmare of Druaga: Fushigino Dungeon (Roguelike)
  • Wizardry: Tale of the Forsaken Land (Dungeon Crawler)
  • Shadow Hearts: Covenant (JRPG)
  • Boku wa Chiisai (3D Platformer)
  • Steambot Chronicles (Action-adventure / Sim)
  • Super Galdelic Hour (Mini-games / Weird)
  • Vampire Night (Gun Game)
  • Ring of Red (SRPG)
  • Mawaza (Puzzle)
  • Mojib-Ribbon (Rhythm)

It's already past but while things are still going:
  • Gitaroo Man
  • Urban Chaos: Riot Response
  • Half-Life, they came out with a really solid port of the game that's worth a replay.
  • Give licensed games a shot. Some of them are real pleasant surprises like that Nightmare Before Christmas one.

These are all multiplats and sort of known so I don't know if these count for you...

Tak and The Power of Juju is a surprisingly well made platformer and Tak 2 Staff of dreams is a tad buggy but looks honestly quite nice for it's time and is much more straightforward and punctual.
I also never see people mention I-Ninja, I guess it's kind of like a platformer hack n slash? Gameplay is very straightforward and it can be a little challenging at times but it's overall an enjoyable game with a nice soundtrack and looks excellent for a PS2 title.
