proper Hiphop/rap

yeah that's exactly what bugged me off I'm fine with the criticism please critic me all you want and shit on my take but calling me a dogwhisling racist for saying the face of rap its not what it used to be is a bit much, if anything he should be happy that i like the golden age of rap

yea, it's like when someone lies to try to argue with no limits as to what material or subject they can best use to fight with you on.... while it's like "I have enough obv severe char flaws - why not come at me with some shit pertaining to them"

first of all i would like to apologize to you personally if i said something horrible and offended you, that wasn't my intent at all, and i hate all kinds of bigotry and i would not wish it upon my worst enemy, with that being said, when i rambled in my OP i was talking about the face of rap that you cant deny it shoved in our faces by some of the mid ass rappers in history, I'm trying to find good rap and hiphop from this gen with this post, that was my intention::lol, i just explained the kind of rap i liked the hard hitting profound rap that every lyric feels heavy and a lot of double meanings, shit so poetic will make the guy getting dissed turn in his grave, i know rap has a big cultural side I'm not aware of and still learning about some of these small details, i like hip hop because how every artist has his way of sending his msg either with high energy rap or more calm slow like the chopper rappers that i think personally are a very underrated sub genre of rap and deserve more love like this one

you just prove my point that its not out there as it was in the 80s and 90s the mainstream direction shifted to just brag about shit and thier song aint that special and dosent intrest me while there is still good har hitting ones but no one talking about them and showing them, specially gate keeping music these days is a personality trait i fucking hate specially with hiphop when the damn artist is trying to blow up after he dedicated his whole life rapping, thats the whole point of this thread, its a forum where you discuss things and you couldve came to me in a more calm way and knew exactly where im coming from rather than attack me like that, regardless im not mad or anything, and im sorry again if i wasnt clear in my op,and please if theres is anything i said above that was offensive and bad please pointed to me so i can apologies and recognize my mistake, thank you for sharing your music ill be listening to them
it's funny how I just knew you like 3 weeks ago and our first convo was about good hiphop songs in the mid 2000s and we started sharing our music together, for someone like me who didn't dive into hip-hop that much and just rediscovered the genre with you that day, you did nothing but shwoing me good music and telling me about the history of some of these artists, all that without even showing me the old 90s stuff too damn, your post was fine you did nothing wrong but i guess he took your wording of how they dont have n words and thier use proper english as racist remarks, its just misunderstanding, and i can vouch to my boy here he aint a racist, he just wanted to proof that "today's lyrics feels like fillers when old music didnt even use any of these lyrics that feels like buzz words at this point" thats all, we discussed this multiple times and his intent was purly talking about how good the music and the lyrics are nothing else

ohhh my bad @buffalo

thnx Jusaiki - he actually DID have a (still reaching) reason to find it racist. still not accurate for Haixen but I wouldn't have been that firm with Buffalo if I had kept that part [the part concerning proper English] in mind. I guess even makin a point to not skimread - blindspots can still happen. fuck bein born in the 70's with worsening ADHD lol

man of the hour thanks for the clarification, yeah when you put it that way i kinda see it but still i didn't word it that badly did i ?, yeah i meant most new mainstream rappers use some buzzwords in their lyrics and finding a a rap song without any of these words its kinda crazy and awesome, shows how creative rappers can be making their songs that's all, it dosent have to out any of these terms but making songs like these is kinda refreshing specially from people in the field for a long time and they still innovating and experimenting new stuff

You Got Me GIF by STRAPPED!

Oh and I forgot I agree with @Jusaiki and can vouch @buffalo didjnt mean anything bad and this is just a misunderstanding hahahahaha

How you describe hip hop is completely disrespectful to the genre. Just because you don't like how a genre evolved doesn't make it automatically bad. Look at how much rock has evolved. All of the subgenres that have derived from rock. Rap is the same way. This "mumble rap" is just a term used by ignorant people not willing to educate themselves on a very extensive genre. There are plenty of good modern rappers. Have you actually tried finding rappers from the 2010s or 2020s that you enjoy or are you just going off of the popular songs you hear snippets of online? This is completely stupid and dogwhistling racism.

Some Open Mike Eagle

Some JID

Obligated mention for Kendrick Lamar, the most lyrical rapper of this era

My personal favorite rapper ever, Danny Brown

And to finish it off, Injury Reserve
"bought a crib for my momma off that mumblin shit" ?

"- Real Bout: Wild Ambition"

yea they should've had Real Bout in the name cuz it has similar gauges, button layout - just with less chars n 3D roll-dodges. I feel it's underrated as a game but hard to defend the visuals. but gameplay should be ALWAYS what counts most

Edit: in my rambling about the evolution of hiphop i meant the recent/this gen became more mid than ever since most main stream stuff are your regular gang banging rap, the 2000s rap were great i grew up with it playing rockstar games (Gta,Midnight club) that was my start and then i started shaping my tast based on what i liked from these games, i think i left this detail out and it sounded like i hate all 2000s rap/hiphop so i wanted to clarify my statment above, sorry yall english is not my first language and i think in arabic then type my thoughts in english so some details get lost in translation ::smirk1
Omg i just noticed we grew up with rap with the exact same games (gta and midnight club) LOLOLOL that is really cool

ayyyyyyyy, yeah rock star really cooked with their music taste, ive always liked their collection of music in every game but never delft into my own taste and actually profiling what i liked till 2008 when flashing lights played in Gta 4, idk what happend to me exactly in that moment i started looking up every song in the game and actually founding out artists and albums and i remember sony released a modernised walkman that was overpriced but it acted like an MP3 more than a cassette player, the first songs i put there were midnight club and GTA music, crazy as it might sound but i ltrly discovered because of rockstar
i still listen to this masterpiece to this day btw

HELL YEAH! I love flashing lights too!! Kanye was the goat in gta, here’s another fantastic song he had in gta.
What do you like from midnight club if you don’t mind me asking? I love this one personally.

Ooh, some great recommendations in here so far.
Okay, for new:

For old:

I kinda stopped paying attention to hip-hop around 2010, when Young Money was blowing up. Always hated Drake, and that influence on the charts turned me off. Checked back in around 2015 and Post Malone was blowing up, so I checked right back out. I knew there was still good stuff out there, I just wasn't in a place to hear it. The Drake v Kendrick beef this Summer brought me back in. Every Kendrick drop was a feast, and watching Drake snivel, cower, whine, and sue has been just *chef's kiss*. Now I'm eagerly anticipating the second half of GNX, I might actually watch the Super Bowl, and I'm catching up on what I missed over the last 15 years, with the help of suggestions such as those offered here. It's a great time to love music.

Thought I'd share this, Interesting jazz-rap LP i listened to a couple of months ago, both the emcee's are top notch and sharp, really consistent, long driven smokey crunchy beats and samples, hardhitting boombap, love the last track, has some of the most eccentric and bizarre storytelling I've heard in a track (I mean that In a good way). Like the Freddie Hubbard sample on B1, I noticed it on my second listen. I wish it was a bit longer, but I'm fine with the length, sometimes having a nice concise, tight record is better than a bloated one. Sort of reminds me of Buhloone Mind State by De La with the more surreal parts or bastards KMD at points. I recommend it.

Speaking of KMD, thought I'd share the full version of Plumskinzz as a bonus, hope you enjoy!

Allow me to introduce y'all to Jazz Spastiks!

They're a Producing duo from Scotland who've been cutting nothing but heat for the better part of twenty years now! Neither of the two rap, so every vocal LP is a collab, but they always choose good emcees. They're also great for this board, as they love retro game samples. I'm not just talking surface level stuff either--there's a damned Popful Mail flip on their debut beattape!

I really love their second LP Mode 7, a collab with junclassic who is a FANTASTIC rapper in his own right.

Their most recent album Summer Night Sessions is fantastic and perhaps a bit more understated in sound, but still a total banger. Features from Awon and Doodlebug, and the track "Bingo" opens with exactly the Resident Evil 4 drop-in you're expecting.

Dig!

No real theme here. I was going for 80s tracks at first but my brain is not cooperating so you get 80s stuff and some of my favorite tracks!
