Help Project64 won't close

To forcefully close Project64 when it won’t respond to normal exit commands, press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager, then locate “Project64” under the Processes tab, right-click it, and select "End Task" this will immediately terminate the program from running on your system.

I remember having this issue before. Although it's been a few years since I used the emulator. I ended up shutting it down from the task manager.

Project64 just won't close no matter what I do. I've been repeatedly clicking the X button in the corner of the window, expecting it to shut down like any normal application, but it still stays on the screen.

There are already some N64 emulators but none work properly there is always stress with something. That's why I stay away from N64 emulators.

Basic windows computing stuff.

Clicking the X button doesn't always close applications. More often than not these days, they minimize to a background process, and even go down to the tray next to the clock where you need to right click and exit them anyway.

Alt+F4 closes applications you have open and selected, keep going with it and you will shut down the operating system.

You can kill hanging or running processes in the task manager, and you can open it by:
CTRL+Shift+Esc
CTRL+Alt+Delete - Task manager.
WindowsKey+R (Run box) and typing in the 'Taskmgr' command.
