Hey guys, which games you have been excited about playing but despite having the time to finish them you still think about playing them later?
On my backlog I have games like Contact and Blue Dragon for the DS, Xenosaga, Baroque and God Hand por the PS2, and everything Persona.

I plan on stop doing things that consume my time, maybe delete all social media apps to actually focus on them, I may not play these games specifically because Steam still exists, but I want to play them, but not feeling forced to finish them if they end up being boring.

Sometimes I have time to play something but I avoid it because I'm making music, and my hyperfocus doesn't allow me to have any pleasure doing anything if i don't progress in something musical. At least, in the litte times that I have a little rest between those works, I play something, or read a book/manga. I've been procastinating play ghost trick again since a long time ago (I wanted a dsi xl first hehe). The first time that I played was like 13 years ago :)

for me its smt 4 even tho i completed only 1 ending and i want to complete the copendium but my lazy ass won't do it i just jumped to smt 4A now that game is also in similar situation -_-

anyways this is the 1st time using a forum and making a comment ^_^

i kinda just accepted my backlog is infinite, so i just play what i feel like
like lets see what i did this week:

bought gran turismo 7, i haven't even TOUCHED the previous GT sport i own, and haven't touched any other gran turismo besides 2 ps1

bought star ocean 6 divine force, i've only played 2 second story R(very good remake btw if you're into JRPG and action RPG stuff it's a must play!)

started the switch paper mario thousand year door, i have not played paper mario 64, i don't even wanna think about the other mario and luigi games how many of those exist and i've played not a single one of them lol.

got fire emblem three houses and engage, the ONLY fire emblem games i've finished are the 2 on GBA, Awakening and Fates, nothing else, there's seventeen fire emblem games!!

spent a lot of time on tony hawk 3+4 remake, i feel bad because i used the mods (cheats basically) to infinite balance, no crashing, fast respawn, infinite special, and at times used 0.5x game speed, i'm getting too old for it and somehow it still feels difficult LOL.

started to REPLAY Ys 8, the best game i've ever played in my entire LIFE, and now i'm playing on PC, with graphics upgrades, 4k, HBAO, other fancy stuff i can't remember the letters for lol
i have only beat YS1, Ys oath in felghana (the remake Memoire version), and YS 9,
i cannot recommend a game more than Ys 8, i'm not lying its the best game i've ever played.
you can jump in at any number, it's just like the zelda games storyline (with a timeline just as confusing)

you see my problem already right? getting MORE games when i got stuff to finish still
i'm absolutely the kinda person who wants to play an entire series if possible
i never buy games at full price UNLESS it's something i absolutely need, or i split the cost with someone else, i hunt sales especially on PS and Steam.

and also i watch a lot of shows/movies across... lets just say too many streaming services lol

I wouldn't say I procrastinate my backlog, If I want to play them I do if not I don't. Although I did start on several games on my side dedicated PC (where I play PS2 games, sixth gen and above) but I think I fried my graphic card it doesn't turn on any more- so I put those games on hold, unfortunately. I plan on buying another setup but for the time being I'm fine casually playing fifth gen and below games.

having so many options you end up choosing nothing... man, my steam wishlist is a nightmare because of that
Man I feel this. Got a Steam Deck in April and went on a spending spree, have about 60 Steam games at the moment... and continue to play PSX and SNES games lol

About "Contact", I played it because I kept reading it's a very peculiar game, but then I found myself just wanting to reach the end, I haven't enjoyed it very much. I should have followed your golden rule "not feeling forced to finish them if they end up being boring" (but maybe you will enjoyed it, I'm not saying it's a bad game, it's simply wasn't for me).

Back on topic, yeah, no specific titles in mind but sometimes has happened the same: I have the time, I would like to play it, but still I won't start and the days go on.

Procrastination is my way of life, my speciality. I could give countless examples, but I'll stick to the worst: the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series. I own almost every game (except the last two) from Yakuza 0 to the samurai spin-off, yet I haven't finished a single one.

Hmm I tend to intentionally leave the "seemingly good" games for playing later until I'm really bored and I'm in the mood to play them. After all it's not a work to complete games just to complete them, no point in playing games when you know it's not the time for you to fully enjoy them.

That being said my list:

Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon

They dont even have to be "seemingly good", some times you play a game you knew nothing about and end up loving it like nothing else, I expected nothing good nor bad from Lisa The Painful and Rakuen but now both are part of my heart, tho, I would never recommend them like that, last thing I want is giving someone huge expectations and be disappointed.
