Praise the Nutella!

Not to be pedantic, but Europe isn't a country (which you obviously know, it's just a pet peeve of mine when people say Europe the same was they say USA, sorry), so it's super different for various countries in Europe.
You're right, it's sometimes an easy mistake to make from an American perspective. I'm sorry if I caused any offence.

Meanwhile, in America: "Hmm... It's a start, but it needs more sugar."

These idiots here over-sweeten everything. Even ketchup in the States is pretty much candied tomato product. It's gross. And as mentioned earlier the breakfast restaurants such as IHOP and others all serve dessert masquerading as breakfast:

And these things tend to get covered in a fake fruit flavored high fructose corn syrup mess.

if you ever find that product taste it::winkfelix

I've seen this around but I've never tried it. How does it taste compared to Nutella?
i like them both but merenda really is better for my taste, try it when you find it again you will be surprised.
it is more fluid and has the perfect balance in sugar.

Huh. I like Nutella but the sweetness makes it rich at times. Thanks, I'll have to try it next time.

As an American, a great deal of the sugar we ingest is simply due to marketing; it's there, so we buy it. We don't think about it, because we don't believe that they'd sell it if it were truly bad for us. Part of it is laziness, another part is misplaced trust.
We have very, very bad habits of not wanting to do a dang thing extra. Boil a few stupid eggs before you go to bed, bam- instant breakkie. Other countries have them, too.

Stupid eggs, so full of protein and no sugar.
Ya, marketing in the US is horrifying. Things that would never fly in other countries get full freedom to propagandize, from pharmaceuticals to chiropractic to Kanye West. And the most prominent one is all the sugar-loaded and artificial color-loaded garbage that we sometimes go so far as to wrongfully call kids' food. Some of that stuff is actually illegal in some countries (due to banned ingredients), yet they are still allowed to be sold and pushed on the public.

And of course people buy it all, not because of any fault in ourselves, but because propaganda works extremely well. And there's very little effort from our media to counter this, especially since pointing out that would hurt their connections with advertisers. (The education system, to its credit, does try to fight back, but it is fighting an uphill battle against a force with much more funding than it has and more respect from kids than education does.)

As for "boil some eggs", I don't think you get what's going on in the US right now. Nobody's going to use up there egg rations like that, especially if they live in food deserts.

I once bought a jar of Nutella to try it when the hype was rampant. If I still had that jar, and it was somehow still good, and I could get it to you... I would give it to you. Did not like.
