I'm posting it in this subforum because I don't want people left out on this matter due not being level 2.

In case someone didn't know, today since 12:30 CEST there has been a nation-wide power outage covering the whole of Spain and Portugal and the south of France. I've heard stuff of even parte of Italy, Germany and the Netherlands but I'm not sure about that. I believe never in the last decades has there been an event like this one in Europe

How's everyone affected been? Thankfuly nothing to lament over here, but it's felt like definitely one of the weirdest days of my life, on par with the start of the confinement. I still don't have internet but about a couple of hours ago I got back my home's power and phone signal

Thank you for the information, friends of mine haven't answered due to the outage, sadly no contacts were made during the day nor night. Any news heads-up from your side ?

I heard that Spain and Portugal were affected by this.
Hope everything gets normal again.

I only have one more thing to say:
Gibraltar Español.

Hope you can get a hold of them soon.

Over here in Spain so far about more than 50% of the power demand has been supplied already. I was made to go work afternoon-night shift and it was pretty stressful leaving my mom and aunty at home with no light or communications, but thankfuly all's right. Let's see what happens over tomorrow. If I stop answering is because my signal is really shitty and still no internet

personally just spent the day sleeping so it didn't affect me much but I'm very worried for people who had to wait hours on hours to get back home because of the delays or what might have happened in hospitals. What bugs me the most now is WHAT EXACTLY caused it? Was it really a "atmospheric phenomenon" or a cyberattack, either way it scares me what will come next

thanks for the news

its scarry if this was a cyber attack because than comes the question was it a independent hacker group or a foreign power like russia

Last time that this happened here in Brazil it was just an honest mistake. An error in paperwork caused the tax payer money that should be used for the power grid maintenance to be mistakenly spent with deluxe prostitutes, high grade cocaine, anal bleaching and penis enlargement procedures but that is just here I guess...

Well in Le Germany we still have Electricity surprisingly enough despite it being very vulnerable, but i heard that Spain has currently a Black out but with France is news to me.

That sucks.

Haven't heard anything from my friend since.
Good news, some parts are getting restored again. Balance is being restored to other cities as well.

The people of Madrid are buying Radios of all things just in case.

The blackout was fixed gradually yesterday, mostly fixed by midnight.
A good to hear,i just ponder when a black out will occur in Germany as I fully trust our Infrastructure

Not just Madrid, all over Spain portable radios and batteries are at an all-time high right now lmao.

And to think that most high-end modern phones don't have radio anymore... Thankfuly my phone was capable and I also had some old radios at home, glad I like retro stuff and decided to keep them
