The Mind Flayer is an absolute vile creature that auto grabs you and insta killed you or take 50% of your HP.

As if everything in Spelunky didn't kill you enough, let's adds this guy that voodoos you at sight with knockback in a game where everything kills you including fall damage, on top of that let's add a wandering skull that go through walls that curses you to a locked 1 HP state

The Phantoms in Star Ocean: The Last Hope

Lemme tell you about these absolute fuckers.

The first time you ever fight them, it's an 8-chain ambush fight. Meaning there are 8 fights back to back, no healing in between.

Their shots are super fast and stun lock you very easily, from almost any distance.

If you get stun locked by 1, chances are, the other 2-4 are also shooting at you, stun locking you. Their shots don't knock you down, so you don't get I-frames from being on the ground.

Some of the fights have leaders that buff the entire rest of the enemy team. They look almost identical save for a slightly different helmet, and if you don't immediately focus them down, you're fucking cooked. You die. There is no salvation for your dumb slow bitch ass that couldn't speed run where's Waldo.

If you get too close, they do a cheeky little shoulder bump that always STUNS you, so the rest of his friends can get in on the non consensual pain train they're about to run on you.

If you make one misstep, the fight is a wash and you need to redo the entire thing.

This encounter sucked ass and I will always get so fucking mad about this enemy. It's definitely a 'do you understand the mechanics because if not, roll the fucking credits you uncultured swine'.

I've been playing a lot of Ninja Gaiden lately, and the teleporting ninja wizard guys are really annoying to deal with.

They plink at you with alarmingly high damage fireballs as you deal with the aggressive melee enemies, and teleport away when you get close. They have fire pillar magic that tends to interrupt combos and player actions too, and the camera often works against you when dealing with them.

Sure, it's a great metaphor for several themes in the story and somewhat accurately emulates the long and intense, near-hopeless struggle that the heroes go through, but holy shit it took me literally almost two hours to finish, with my anxiety over losing and being forced to play it over again building more and more every turn...Which I guess was the point, as I said. But still I will also say again, holy shit and fuck the final boss of P3P lol ::omgdoom

He's beatable if you know what you're doing or go for the cheese strat but it can be pretty stressful. And if you don't know what you're doing he'll wipe the floor with you.

Believe me I know, I've been chipping at MN for the first time. The caster's just rank up there for me as a "Pest enemy", something that's not necessarily crazy hard but is annoying when they show up.
