Possibly a strange occurrence in Super Mario 64? Any explanations?

WTF, is this real? I need to grab my kodak camera asap

Well, when you love a game so much you dream about it and have the same copy of it for a long time, the ghost in the machine begins to evolve. It develops sentience and begins to attempt to make contact with you. Just be glad it's happening in SMB64 and not GTA. I had a copy of Liberty City Stories where Liberty City got superhaunted and I could see black shades floating around the airport and every so often I had a ghost car come along that would drive just like I do in GTA, ie aggressively and through pedestrians.

I know that sounds like creepypasta but there's a grain of truth to it- the ghostcar thing happens occasionally in that one as a glitch where a driverless car spawns and drives aggressively and attacks you and other pedestrians. I have no idea what causes it, and I doubt its the same reasons for a related phenomena in GTA: SA where it spawns driverless cars because you're on a road where the engine is programmed to spawn more cars than pedestrians. It usually happens near the tunnel by Cedar Grove, or in various areas in central Portland. I'm pretty sure the shades were just the result of me playing the game while way too stoned.

i believe you ghosts are real I also see them when I afk my game

Oh snap!
I have the Samsung version of that TV chillin' in a closet somewhere!

yeah you were probably just seeing things. I could relate though. When I was a kid, when I first encountered the RSOD on my old PS2, I thought something possessed my PS2. But no, it was just an error. There was also this weird glitch in my copy of Twilight Princess a long time ago, the first part of the battle music didn’t play and it was just silence, until I moved closer to the enemy where the backing track played by itself. The glitch never occurred again, it was the result of a dying disc laser.

On a serious note it's likely just yer' brain bein tired and hallucinating stuff. Whenever I'm super tired I always jump at something as simple as a coat in my closet cause in my half-functioning brain it looks like some giant tall ghoul shadow man.

May have also been a dream your brain gaslit you into believing really happened, N64 games have a history with that sorta thing surprisingly

You have a creepypasta cart. Ben Drowned.

But I agree with others here, you may have just been tired. I once fell asleep playing Legacy of Kain. It was a very odd experience. And I am still not 100% certain if I really sleep played Majora's Mask or it was just a very vivid dream. You shouldn't play when tired anyway. I know we all do it. But it can affect the quality of your sleep. It's why you shouldn't doomscroll before bed either.
