I'll always go with Red because he was the first one I got to play as (back in Yellow), and then he blew my mind by being the final boss on Crystal.

I SO wish more games would let you fight your previous self as the closing encounter... It's emotionally charged and exiting!

I'm pretty sure I bought Emerald as a kid simply because I thought both protagonists' outfits were so much better than in RS (and likewise, I think these are way better than their redesigns in ORAS)
