In recent months, development studios in particular have been fearing for their survival. Now Sony has pulled the plug on a platform that was supposed to secure PlayStation's e-sports future. Repeat.gg ends after ten years. ::bigboss

Hey Dan, I know it's you because you always change your profile, right?I only recently started playing video games, real games, not the old-school games.

I've literally never heard of this platform. I'm not into esports, granted, but whatever it is didn't exactly have much brand penetration.

I'm also part of the "who?" crowd.

I don't want any service to die (if only for the people working on it), but something tells me Sony won't face much of a backlash here.

e-sports are dying, so as most GaaS games.
Companies are starting to realize that you can't just create something expecting to be the next fortnite.

Huh?

Well like Tonyhoro said, e-sports are dying.

It was a weird experiment were many corpos thought it would be easy to get money. But now that videogames are kind of abandoning the mainstream less people are even paying attention to esports.

And I think it is a good thing btw, many awful decision on many recent (last decade) games have been made so 'it could be the next big esport' rather to just make it fun.
