This September marks three decades since PlayStation launched in North America and Europe, followed by additional regions. The global launch changed the landscape of popular culture forever. In celebration of this milestone, we’re excited to announce PlayStation: The First 30 Years, a new large-format photography book.

That kind of pricing, especially the deluxe one, takes it from a book I go "oh, I'd like to thumb through that" to, to a book I go "oh, we can never even open the box it was mailed in. it's too expensive to ruin." So even though it's sure to have cool stuff in it, nah

I mean cool, it's clearly a collectors item kinda deal but... $115 for some printed pics on paper 😬

The PS one that was a big beginning of 3D gaming I hope that Sony can do this again to make such a great console.

September 29, 1995: How could I forget?
Bought it on launch day, exactly my birthday 30 years ago... 🤩

Wait to find that book somewhere here.

Best console ever made, best design and controller but the price for the book and deluxe edition combine jesus ::omgdoom

I'm not huge on the aesthetic, is the PS1 being laid to rest here? A mausoleum for its skeletal remains? Or perhaps it is being studied by aliens.

My memory and feeling about the console is much livelier, grittier, more naive. Whereas this book gives me IKEA or Apple Store vibes.

Virtua Fighter on the Sega Model 1 was 3D before the PlayStation was out.

That was like Fake 3D.
It's clearly showing a Z-axis. Although really rudimentary but still 3D.

The Dreamcast book was fairly cheaper too.

I think I might wait a few years and buy a ratty copy that's dogeared and missing pages and scribbled on for $500 on ebay

I love the look of it, but £95 is very steep and might just be a bit too lumpy for me.
