End of an era. While I never cared for the way the LittleBigPlanet games played, Sackboy had a great look for a mascot.

Damn, that sucks. I bought my ps3 with the little big planet bundle and really loved this game ( especially online with all the levels created by the communauty )

For years they've been leaning more and more into the "Neutral Clinical Corporate Blue Blasé" as their brand image.
Ditching the PS button colors, making ugly hardware: essentially stripping the personality from everything Playstation.
So, it makes sense to me they'd want to get rid of the character images with personality as well, lol.

the buttons not having colors is fucking lame, even Nintendo did this.

Well a big mistake on the side of Sony,Little Big Planet was a beloved IP and fans would pay much for playing a new Little Big Planet game,but in the end its there choice.I myself loved Little Big Planet 2.

They quietly killed him off when the LBP servers got hacked, and they had to kill the franchise. This is just people not in the know finding out.

I always liked AstroBot as a mascot, but I'd have liked too if they had given Toro more protagonism, although it makes sense how it couldn't work that well for western audiences

Well there's Restitched being developed which seems like it's trying to be the next LBP kinda experience, so not all hope is lost...
