The separation of PlayStation and PC seems to be complete. According to reports, PlayStation is breaking with its previous strategy: PlayStation Studios head Hermen Hulst reportedly informed staff this week that strictly single-player games will no longer be released on PC in the future. As early as the beginning of the year, Bloomberg reported—citing insiders—that Sony was distancing itself from its PC plans in order to market upcoming single-player titles as pure PS5 exclusives. The report highlights that while *Ghost of Tsushima* was ported to PC years after its console launch, its sequel, *Ghost of Yōtei*, will remain a console exclusive. Plans for a PC version of the latter have allegedly already been scrapped. 👇👇👇👇

Give it three-five years, they'll all get ported to PC again.
As for multiplayer? Considering 70% of Marathons Playerbase is on PC, Sony pulling away from Steam is a death sentence. That's before considering the Horizons Zero Dawn spin off no one wanted which is still getting a Steam/PC Release.

The genie is out of the bottle, PC is inevitable.

And PC Gamers have no issues waiting for a delated port.
Timed exclusivity just means the later port comes with all the additional content day one.

On one hand, it makes perfect sense why they gave up on this since whats the point of having a PS5 if you can just play the exclusives on pc.
But on the other hand, it sucks that we wont get more of these games on pc since i do enjoy their games like Ratchet and Clank

Oh no, the multi-billion dollar company pulled its games from PC. What are we to do? Wait, go about business as usual. This isn't some earth shattering news, and most likely, it's in response to Steam's new console coming out. They know that if their games are on PC as well as their system, who is going to rightly shell out 600-800 dollars for their plastic box with games you can only play if they allow it on the platform?

Sony is just hedging their bets, hoping that people will plop down money for the PS5. And to be honest, a lot of people jailbreak their consoles anyway, so Sony will lose there too. They may think they can stop it, but they really can't.

So, I don't see this as a loss so much as an "eh, whatever" moment. Because, honestly, from the lineup of games I have seen from Sony lately, nothing of value was lost.

But..... do they even have games to make such move? ::eggmanlaugh
well,there's Astro Bot,Ghosts of Yutei and,uh,....
Seriously, though,I miss those PS2 days where good and interesting games were coming out all the time. Sony has yet to make a console to match the richness of PS2's library...and given how expensive and time consuming games have become these days,it will probably never happen...

PlayStation and PC go their separate ways

Accurate title: PlayStation just needs some time to find themselves.

PC never left, and PC still has the keys to your apartment:
(They're coming over Friday, you better have popcorn.)

Wouldn't the PS6 be basically a PC?
It most certainly would be. Game consoles have been running AMD x86-64 compatible APUs since the PS4, excepting those that run on ARM (Switch). Aside from the particulars of hardware and the underlying SDKs and operating systems, video game consoles from 2013 (and beyond) are PCs in a walled garden.

Be glad they even let you have a button with which to pretend that you're in control of it being on or off.

I don't see this as a permanent solution. There is a high likelyhood of them porting some single-player games a couple of years after the PS5 launch, but it also looks like they are carefully observing Microsoft and they really don't want to end up like them... We'll have to wait and see how Sony moves forward from this.

Good

We need exclusives back so ignite this war so companies will just bring dial up to eleven not the ingame store, but the quality of the games. People will cry but in the mid-long term it is for the better.

Now that there are no exclusives we only have 1 Call of Duty that is multiplatform and abuses all its players with stupid skins. No companie will stand up because, why? You already have CoD selling on your paltform.

Back on the console wars Microsoft put Halo, and Nintendo and Sony HAD to put effort on it so we got Metroid Prime and Killzone. Tho this last one is just:

But KZ2 is a banger!

Well, the PS5 does not have many exclusives and it's still selling great, so most buyers don't care about them at all.
