But then again, it's all about personal opinion, so you should read some review or watch some gameplay because lot of people think it's bad.

If you're asking just for ps2 games because you don't own newer consoles, it's totally ok (I've 100%ed Odin Sphere on ps2, I bought it day-one, if I've been able to beat one of those final bosses anyone can do it!!). But if you can play on Vita or ps3 know there's a remaster: I don't know about other differences, but surely they've improved the battle system (easier combo and more fluid combat). And in the remaster I think you can choose between classic mode (ps2) and newer mode, so you would not miss anything.
