any fans of it? This was my third time trying to finish the game and I finished it over two days. The voice acting was a real treat and a pleasant surprise considering the English translation came in 1994, when VA was still uncommon. I didn't expect how strong the plot, the twists and turns and execution of the dialogue played out. There are definitely some strange translation choices at times, but as a complete package I'm impressed. I used to play adventure/visual novel games as a kid on the family Windows 98 computer, so having an "adult" game transported me to a different era.

Did anyone else find the themes age well? Without getting political and just grazing on current events, the idea that Snatchers could "invade" our political figures and subversively conquer the world stage is a real fear in the age of disinformation. It parallels the current trend of (dis)information co-opting the imagination of our friends and leaders & questions which is the "real" version of that person: the persona in public or on the internet/tweeting. Are you a robotic Snatcher or are you the "real deal"?
Thoughts?

Playing the "game" after reading tons of Philip K. Dick books -> reading "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" -> watching bad adaptation of this book called Blade Runner and all this Snatcher visual novel *ahem* interactive cinema BS is not "wow" at all. It's just a Japanese adaptation of an adaptation lol.

Always has been.

I really, really like it. I played it a couple of times already, and I'm planning on playing it again now after beating Death Stranding 2.

Frown Town just sent their ambassador.

Snatcher and Policenauts are must plays imo. MGS is obviously most well known for its forward-thinking themes, but it applies to those two as well.

Do you seriously call Blade Runner a bad movie?

Sure, the movie took several artistic liberties but you cannot deny that Ridley Scott has done interesting things and brought up new ideas since the 80's had a different socio-economic context from the 60's.

Is it unfaithful? Yes, it's not faithful to the book. But does that make an art form necessarily and intrinsically illegitimate?

Furthermore this isn't a visual novel as you still need to make choices and have to explore, it's not as linear as a VN could be (see: Banshee's Last Cry and Zero Escape).

My only brush with this series was Sega CD, played both US and EU versions. Now I do have the PS1 version and was rather curious about the scenes that weren't shown. I'm into anything that gives off a detective style vibe myself. Didn't mind it was done in the style of Blade Runner and how well it was done back in the day.

Konami is fumbling hard for never re-releasing this nor Policenauts on modern hardware...
Yeah, but that's why fan-translation exists.
