I really love nethack, it's one of my favourite roguelike games. I've never finished a run but I've gotten pretty far. I can't stand the sokoban rooms though.

The android port is really well done. It has the best controls and UI I've played in a PC roguelike ported to android

I found cdda, angband and DCCS to be pretty painful to play on android but this is the main way I play nethack. There used to be an UnNethack port as well but it hasn't been updated since 2016.

There's also a very Nethack inspired game called Pathos for Android

It's sort of a nethack variant. There's a lot of changes from nethack and I didn't enjoy it quite as much as nethack but it scratches the same itch.

My horse earns a name after covering me for several floors especially hard because I accidentally threw my sword in a corner of the dwarven mines I can't get to yet until I either strip all of my shit off (and get mogged) or get a pickaxe. So I opted to go look for that pickaxe, as I need to go back down to the mines anyways.

Edit: We did not make it. I got tempted hitting a floating eye and got paralyzed. Me and El Fucko bit the dust. Now we're back on alt.org/nethack playing in ascii

Damn. I was trying to edit my last post. I don't want to spam this post into the whats new all night, so one last thing:

What do you see here?

I see me standing in a doorway waiting for my pet dog stubbornly and unprovoked to fight a yellow mold (it stuns on hit). In the room to the southeast of where we're at is a fountain, and north of that is the room leading to the first floor.



I love this game.
