This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes...

I wonder about this sometimes, what if I don't take any? Would it be the same as red pill then? If so, then what's the purpose of the red pill in the first place?

Good question.

The risk is high! Go for it! ROFL

If you take both pills.
You would Wake-up in a Forrest, surrounded by Bigfoot <Feet?>
That would Cook you a Delicious meal, of Fava Beans, Liver and Chianti.

Before Cooking and Serving you to the next person to do so.

It's a Vicious Cycle man.

I'd love for Bigfoot to cook me meals :3

Also, why do we have to choose right away? Can't we just bring the pills home and decide then? Morphy is gaslighting us to swallow some unknown drugs and we suppose to just believe him? Drug dealers are getting smarter these days.

If he is in the Matrix at that point, there's likely nothing else programmed other than the room and Morpheus. It'd be like in a video game. He literally cannot select nothing and has to sit there until he makes a choice.
If it's a dream, taking neither would likely be the same as taking the blue pill, ergo he wakes up as Anderson and continues his boring life.

But of course, that's just an interpretation.

Don't forget the choice is offered to Keanu Reeves, there is no wrong choice here.

Take the red pill, and he discover the truth about the Matrix, be the chosen one, save the world as Neo.
Take the blue pill, he stay in the simulation, he could become a rockstar in Night City leading rebels against megacorpos.
Take neither, he stays as Keanu Reeves, he already won.

Mind blown.

it's basically dragon quest 1, but with slightly better graphics.

Uncomfortable truths and comforting lies are terrible choices, both of them, as both have mounting costs that cannot ever be squared off.

Actually I think the movies lost an interesting opportunity because of the whole chosen one gravitas: it's not like the choice is irreversible, so what if one chose blue and took the red at a later date? Cypher did the exact opposite, so a period of rumination by the hero have been a nice touch.

Id probably be stuck in analysis paralysis.
