Pet Peeves

People that takes more than one minute to use an ATM

COME ON FOLK, THERE IS LIKE FIFTEEN PEOPLE BEFORE YOU WANTING MONEY ¿ARE YOU MAKING A TRANSACTION OR FUCKING HACKING AREA 51?
Personally I don't feel comfortable when someone gets too close to me at the ATM.

Not a big fan of the automatic tip thing. I ordered some food the other day and the delivery app I used made me choose between a 12% 15% and 20% tip. I'm not against tipping, I'm actually a fair tipper but being forced to tip I don't like.
This.

Forced charity isn't charity.

When someone sends you a bunch of short video memes and expects you to watch all of them. Space them out i don't want to waste time sitting and watching a bunch of short videos that might not even be funny.

Well, here in the States it's a mix. There's some stuff they've added tipping to that makes no sense, but most of the traditional jobs in restaurants and the like only pay a little less than a third of minimum wage; tipping is basically required for those people to make ends meet. Every company has a different way of trying to make it work; some better, some worse.

(Obviously everyone getting some kind of regular living wage for a job would be the ideal thing, but that would probably take a very drastic change here).

....it's an annoying topic though, I had fun bar tending but being reliant on people feeling generous is a tough way to pay your rent.

i hate it when im having sneezing fits and people say "bless you" for every single one, idk why it annoys me so much but in that moment i just want to rip things apart like im a gorillia in a mosh pit

This is why i wait for the fit to end before saying bless you, the last thing someone struggling with that annoying itch that trigger the sneeze is someone not thinking that that one was the last, related, but also i dislike people that speak to other when they are clearly coughing

Several related to customers at my job...

Item won't ring up? "...GUESS IT'S FREE!" *stupid laugh*
Drive-Thru is FREEZING cold? "Oh, I have exact change!" *digs for 30 seconds*
Bringing an item to the counter, deciding they aren't getting it, then not putting it back.
Leaving those little scraps of paper towels on the floor in the bathroom.
Leaving an insane mess of crumbs and napkins and things on the table after eating.
Paying for something that costs like $5 with a $100 bill.
Paying for something that's nearing $10 with change and less than half the change is quarters.
"Do I order here?" We have a window you see immediately after walking in with a big "FOOD ORDER" sign.
Saying they have food to pick up but not giving their name or even what the food is.

Bee representation. Look I know why everyone thinks only about honey bees when they hear the word ‘bee’, but most bees don’t even live in groups, in fact most bees live alone (%70 of bees live underground). As someone who lives in North America it’s baffling how little people know about the bees that are actually native here. I find it so annoying since there are so many interesting bee species -
The leafcutter bee I find so cool, they cut leafs to make their nests.

Mason Bees actually got me thinking about this since I recently put up a house for them that has become very popular. Teddy Bear bees are so chunky and fluffy (don’t live in North America)

Also how some behave around bees and wasps, flailing their arms around and screaming, or swatting at the bug just significantly ups the chance of them getting stung. They are just making themselves a threat in the bugs eyes.

Hm... I mentioned a gaming peeve before. For a general peeve, I guess it irritates me deeply when people cut off mid sentence. I'm forced to keep my attention on them while they "uhhhhh" for half a minute when it would have been much simpler to speak more concisely; collect your thoughts before speaking, please.

I have a laundry list of pet peeves regarding the bus -

  • People that crowded around the exit door ( they are not getting off any time soon, just seem to think it’s a nice place to stand)
  • Mainly guys who spread their legs as wide as possible especially when the bus is (which it normally is) crowded. Last time I was on the bus this guy was spreading his legs so wide he was taking up two seats (the bus was also full at the time. His ass was not that fat that he needed two seats for it
  • How everyone seems to only stand at the front half of the bus, to the extent instead of moving to the back they will be standing on the red line that indicates where passengers aren’t supposed to be
  • People who will lean over others to pull the stop wire instead of getting up to press the button
There’s probably more but this is what I can think of right now

Because I’m already on it here are two annoying events I experienced due to the bus

When I was around 15 a bus driver that looked like he could be my great grandfather looked me up and down like a loony tunes character as I swiped my card for the bus then thanked me and said “nice, very nice”. (That is also one of the only times I’ve been hit on)

This year well I was waiting for the bus, there was also a woman in a mobility scooter. When the bus arrived there wasn’t enough space for her, but instead of telling her the bus driver shut the doors on her and moved forward away from her without saying anything.

Please get your cats spayed/neutered. There are too many stray and feral cats and they live a hard life. And every kitten season means more. TNR can't succeed if everyone with a cat doesn't do their part.

I've heard that in some places it's really hard to adopt a cat and especially a kitten. If you can travel to a city like mine you can adopt easily since we are overrun. I didn't even have to adopt. All my cats are kitten season finds.

Neuter people that try to pay a 10$ candy with a 500$ bill
This is particularly annoying in small places like where I work. We get lots of senior folk that will not under any circumstances retain that sometimes hundred dollar bills are inconvenient to make change for on a five dollar purchase, and sometimes I just don't have enough 20s in the drawer to make that change without using up most of my fives. It's not like we can just not accept 50s or 100s either, because we can't really afford to lose the business in the slower parts of the year.

  • When someone leaves the tap slightly open, making water droplets. You're wasting precious water by doing that!
  • When someone barges into my room without knocking on the door and leaves without closing it.

What makes it annoying is that my store is a humble counter of candy in my front, so we can't have lots of change, now try to imagine how pesky is to go to a nearby store for change and spend 10 minutes looking for someone with the change
