A thread dedicated to all the things you love about the Persona Series!
I'll start:

Persona 4 is one of my all time favorite Persona games of all time. (despite never finishing it)
The story, the unique setting, the gameplay, the characters, the absolute FIRE music...
I love it so much!

Yes, its time to shill my love for this series.

I love all three of the modern persona (P3,P4,P5) but Persona 3 will always have a special place in my heart because its the first one I've played and the story is just so damn good. But I will say I love all three of them equally, each of the game have its own unique charms that I like. Unrelated but I feel like Metaphor also fits here as its clear that it draws inspiration from both Persona and SMT, this may be recency bias but I like Metaphor the most out of all the three lol. It does the gameplay loop so well and the story is pretty good as well. Anyway, I can't wait for the supposed Persona 4 Remake and Persona 6.

Now before the old persona fans attack me, I am currently playing through Persona 2 Innocent Sin and I'm planning to play Eternal Punishment, P1 and SMT if too.

I played Persona 5 Royal first, and as so it's my favorite, but Persona 3 Reload was a *VERY CLOSE* second, it was truly amazing having this experience again. I could not play Persona 4 still, but in the future i'm planning to do so.
As @Hotwer said, Metaphor got the formula just right, and it's absolutely fantastic.

I missed the hate thread but got just on time for this one... Sigh... Life isn't fair sometimes...
On a serious note though, Persona 4 is probably the best out of the ones after 2. As we all know, Persona started at 3. 5 DOES have the best gameplay, it just took them until Royal to make it good, but 4 has the best story in my opinion. As a Persona 3 glazer, sometimes I need to put the meat riding to the side and realise that P4 is something special. P4 is like a beautiful memory, cherished forever. P3 and 5 are good, yeah, but I don't often associate the type of emotions I had while playing 4 with them. 3 is more like an art piece that you have a deep appreciation for, 5 is more like a game you had a great time playing and having fun with. 4 is like I said, something entirely else. Sadly I have to end this entire thing by saying that this is just MY opinion, because I guess we can't discuss things nicely and express thoughts on the internet without getting shot in the back of the head 6 times.
My first Persona game was 3, I love it. I replayed 3 the most out of all of the Persona games, I even replayed Portable a few times. But 4 is something else.
And also, a side note, Persona 2 Innocent Sin for the PSP has the greatest opening out of any Persona game, this one isn't my opinion this is just objective, verified, fact checked truth AND YOU CAN GO ARGUE WITH THE WALL BIG GUY!!!

This series has some of the most impressive UI design ever.
I know right, and it keeps on getting better and better.
OG Persona 3 on ps2 was my entry to the series. Probably one of the first jrpgs I've completed, and still one of the best. That intro will be stuck in my head forever.
This and Soul Phrase is my jam.

Have you saw Eternal Punishment opening too?
That shit is fire.

Yukari my beloved.

I only played P3P, and tryed the second one. Even though they're great JRPGs, the problem is that progression is too damn slow. You gain just a little bit of exp. everytime you win a battle.

I'm an avid dating sim enjoyer and SMT fan even before OG P3 rolled out so it doesn't feel special to me, I still enjoy all of it, my fave is 1.
I hope they put Featherman costumes in all the future installments, Atlus woulda get my money for sure.

Yeah I love both, have you seen their PS1 versions? Potentially the worst thing I've ever seen. Its just some text on a screen with music playing. It doesn't even feel artistic, just feels boring.
In the beginning of the series, it seems that they were pointing at a different direction. (Grim atmosphere, depressing ambientation and more for the "realism") But it shows that it didn't work very well.

I still think the intros the PS1 versions are abysmal even with that taken into consideration. Its clear that with the new intros on the PSP nothing was sacrificed. I guess it was their first time dipping their toes into the spinoff series so they didn't know if the kind of flashy and artistic intros would make them look like they're less serious.
Take Dream of Butterfly for example, a beautiful intro for P1 without sacrificing the overall tone or atmosphere:
I know some people think the PSP OSTs are worse than the PS1 ones, but that's not the debate I'm making here. I'm solely talking about the intros, which are undeniably better on the PSP versions.

Since a lot of people never play Persona 1 before, I'll present to you the bestest song in all Persona series, maybe even in Atlus history, hell, make it one of THE best song in vidya game history.

I have, I think that's just how the product is at the time, people from back then will love it of course. But I prefer the PSP version as well.

I think Pokemon is much slower at least the older one imo but the newer one is faster yeah.
I wonder what Persona 6's UI design would look like?
Whatever it is, Atlus will cook as always. They have an entire team dedicated just for the UI after all.
