The grey guy is making a reference to Rao in the opening which is the name of the Sun God of the Planet Krypton, Superman's (DC Comics) home. Superman often invokes Rao in his comic when hard pressed. I suppose the gray guy is Birdman but since he was originally called Superman (according to wikipedia), this must be a joke placed by the translator. I can't imagine the original Japanese writer referring to Rao.

IDK if it's an emulator issue, but if you use a turbo controller and hold Turbo Jump, he will float, some items can't be reached by regular jump, so it may be a unintended feature

I didn't have the chance to play this game although the superhero theme that this game has is fine especially for being a platformer with elements I didn't have the chance to play this game, although the superhero theme that this game has is fine, especially for being a platformer with action puzzle elements, especially in the boss battles, which is like a kind of monopoly, but with objects.
